^^^ It’s tacky LOL …And still irresistibly charming and full of her own personality. Unlike the nameless Hollywood celeb homes that are designed by some corporate entity and may as well be a sterile model show home.

Her home is very her Vogue Paris: Grand, decadent, fabulous, unapologetically luxe and elitist, and unabashedly gaudy. Wished she would remember such a strong sense of individuality displayed in her home with her generic Fashion Book.

It’s interesting to see her new place…
She is not with her longtime partner anymore and it’s funny how full of light her previous apartment was.
I like her place. It’s chic weirdly even if black everywhere isn’t necessarily my cup of tea. But yes, at least there’s a sense of personal style and cohesion.

And I guess at 69, you don’t want to think too much. Everything has to be convenient!

We want to see the closet!!

^^^ Also very curious to see her closet and what’s hanging in there… Looks like Carine adores the 80s as much as Emmanuelle! Black/gold/white marble; all the lacquered black pieces— along with the all-black lacquered rooms is the epitome of 80s decadent indulgence; the embossed mirrors and mirror-back shelves; the ladykiller black leather furnishings, including the black leather bedspread… She truly is the embodiment of the female Tom Ford and his other half. Even without the carefully displayed croc coat by Tom Ford (LOL), there’s absolutely a whiff of Tom Ford in the attitude everywhere but with a whimsical idiosyncratic touch that's her— like the Japanese screen over her bed (incorrectly described as Chinese LOL), that’s so Carine at her best. Missing this Carine in her current efforts...

The black is very Serge Lutens, Opium Saint Laurent and all. Yes very decadent but I would say more in the late 70’s early 80’s.

I’m always fascinating in how people who have incarnated modernity in it extreme evolves. We have seen Carine’s interior before and her work as well as her persona represented it. Somehow it felt very modern without having heavy hints from the past…

Now, it’s deeply rooted in the past but maybe more timeless than modern.

It’s weird because her place is actually not offensive at all, but still quite strong.

Yes, I would be interesting in seeing Emmanuelle’s place even if I expect it to be more cliché in a Parisian sense.

I think that the problem with Carine is actually that she doesn’t tap in her Parisian roots anymore. Nothing in her work suggest an attachement to Paris or whatever a Parisian style might be/look whereas her past work was Paris all the way!

Her old apartment had been published previously (can't remember which publication this came from) but I'm curious to see how it has evolved over time!
