I love this house on the cover - Malibu? Anyone know if it’s still standing?

Yes, this home is in Malibu Colony. Sadly, they put it on the cover, but I couldn't find anything in the issue on it.

^ the bedrooms whoa :lightblueheart::drooling:

why can't people do that anymore? if I see any more of those all-beige rooms.. ughh

I wonder if we'll get high quality pics of Serge Gainsbourg's place now that it's open to the public.. I saw some bits in Charlotte's documentary on Jane and it looked like.. a dream. All black but not dumb, Rick Owens, self-conscious, tumblr black, no, this was sexy, soulful, decadent, and the type of darkness of someone who treasures intimacy and has a sense of humor.

Re: beige - we live in an age of the lowest common denominator and “likes” - so the majority of what’s exposed/promoted with these “private” spaces is devoid of actual character. Just keep scrolling lol.
Conversely, I’ve been to some unique/envy-inspiring homes but they’ll never be published because the owners cherish their privacy too much.

^ True. It's kind of nice when some disregard for privacy is a part of old-school eccentricity, you definitely see here (esp in a lot of the interiors from the 70s and 80s) that some people were so unapologetic and defiant with the things they liked that being less than private about it is consistent with everything else. The problem is when it's not so much a disregard for privacy but a need to be out there and comprehend as many tastes as possible by watering down any hint of personality. Several pages ago, when it's all recent celebrity pictures, it's really just the jeanneret chair, white rugs and oval-shaped beige tables, like a bad song on repeat lol.
