Hedi has been watching one too many Tiktoks.

He did hire a Tiktoker couple seasons ago to front his campaign if I remember correctly
As for the collection itself
You can get all the clothes in a second hand store
The fit is more generous to guys without the skeleton figure I’ll give him that

It’s a change from his usual dry Celine menswear… although it’s a bit like his Surf Sound collection for Saint Laurent. This smells like desperation. At the same time it’s very telling that someone as stubborn as Hedi is now diluting his work to have a wider appeal.

I can't help but like it. It's a bit Faith Connection-y.

I find this look so much better than Alessandro's Gucci schtick. For as much as Alessandro does vintage, thrift shop fashion...going into the shops, I always am very turned off by the fabrications of things. Most everything feels cheapy, or thick and scratchy, heavy, and synthetic. It really doesn't ever feel very luxurious.

Hedi's thrift shop fashion IS actually luxurious IRL. The proportions are always right, the fit is always right and the fabrication is always right. The savoir-faire is totally there. I'd wear a lot of this, if I could afford.

He's doing something different at least. I don't think it's for me though. It looks like something for high school boys.

The music f*cking sucks.

TikTok has ruined fashion
maybe, but you can still expect this bombastic bof excerpt from his 2036 interview about that uncharted territory..

I decided to shift to TikTok in 2019. There was not much in social media back then, it felt so raw and new, and everything was possible. A generation was about to come out from all these platforms, distilling distorted psychedelic choreographies and a new surf move. I started to define an aesthetic and dance representation that I first showed in a collection called “The Dancing Kid”.

...Can’t say I’m excited by these types of clothes. It’s all good that skaters/stoners dress this way when they put it together on the cheap. To buy from such an expensive label this sort of thing, makes one sort of a giant poseur; but I’m not hating. If you can throw money at looking like this, then more power to you. (I'm perfectly content and confident in my perfectly tailored pant and basic tee.)

What I do enjoy immensely is the presentation and this eye for a bigger picture than just clothes when it comes to Hedi. The “runway” is ingenious, with its mix of Nintendo Mario Cart go-carting and the social-distancing rule LOL And Hedi always excels with this sort of subculture casting and the right soundtrack; the gangly guys all feel like they’re part of the same clique and live the life— unlike so many other castings of other shows where the forced diversity usually never feels like any of these kidz would ever hang out IRL.

I'm too old to even be aware of what TikToc is??

Looks like Slimane's inspiration for this collection...is based on the character of a movie from the 1980s.... "Fast Times At Ridgemount High"....Jeff Spicoli.

Yes!!! I watched Fast Times for the first time recently and it's very Spicoli, bad dye job and all. Such an iconic character.
