Chanel Beauty S/S 2013 : Gisele Bundchen, Monika Jagaciak & Sigrid Agren

^ It all comes down to that nowadays, doesn't it?

#Vogue28 Maybe that is the reason but I don't think Monika & Sigrid are 'non-commercial' in the sense that that term usually applies to 'unconventional beauty' because I think they're both downright gorgeous and mass appealing.

Sorry but I don't think so and the proof is right here. Like most people who commented on this thread this cosmetic campaign would have been better off without her.

Oh well, opinions. Gisele is one of the few models who can transit from extremely commercial to extremely high fashion work, and that's why she fits every brand. She's a stunning, healthy, mature woman who brings that something else to everything she does, she has the IT factor that very few supermodels have. And honestly she's a much better choice for this type of campaign than a dreadfully bland girl like Sigrid.

Gisele is too wild and sexy for nonchalance Chanel

That's why I feel she doesn't fit the brand - when you hire Gisele, you're hiring a recognisable package of sexy hair and success, which doesn't quite square with what Chanel stands for. But after their decision to hire Brad Pitt, what is that, these days?

OR...that's what we're programmed to believe by Vogue for years  I know its just your opinion but Sigrid is not bland at all, there is this tendency to term extremely beautiful girls bland these days while the unconventional looking get away as 'real' or 'chameleons'

I actually liked the idea of Brad Pitt for Chanel until he appeared in the ad with that awful beard and his acting is just  Gisele is sexy but so is Monika but this ad is about their faces not their bodies and Monika and Sigrid's faces are ethereal while Gisele's isn't so she doesn't fit.

In this campaign Chanel and Gisele don't merge enough, it's a bit odd/weird.

Well I always thought Gisele is overrated and I will probably never changed my mind, she just doesn't appeal to me.
I don't like this ad either, the photos looks outdated and they're not making any connections with the Monika and Sigrid ones.

Very, very true. I actually think she would suit the RTW campaign better than beauty. Her look is just so different, and more interesting, than Chanel beauty's recent girls.

Now if that isn't something for Chanel clients to aspire to, I don't know what is. Even I appreciate the realness to the video and naturalness that the print advert carries. Gisele Bundchen sure knows which are her best angles, to flatter that stunning face of hers.

Now I actually think she was a great choice for this campaign as she's so beige.

Gisele?! I literally screamed when I saw the title! She looks so beautiful! Has she ever had a Chanel campaign?

nop, this is her first chanel campaign which we thought would never come

Surprise to see Gisele as well in a good way of course.

Has she ever been on the Chanel runway? I've never seen it so, which I always thought was strange because Gisele has such a diverse portfolio, but never any Chanel.
Are their sales declining? Otherwise I can't really justify her presence for such a hefty price tag she commands, especially when the end result is neither terrible nor tremendous, but just adequately beige, much like its namesake.

I don't mind Gisele at all. On the contrary, I quite like the campaign. The print doesn't really do anything for me but I like the commercial though. It's quite a nice change for the brand and definitely targets to the target audience well. And damn, she looks so good.

^ Thanks, I've searched before and never came up with any images.

Finished result of Gisele's advert; which I think does wonders for Chanel:
