Chanel Cruise 2018 Paris

I don't mind a little costume every once and a while. The most heavily referenced pieces were the strongest IMO.

From Looks 54 onward, the collection really sung for me.

Gucci requested Acropolis for a show and the goverment said no so maybe Chanel didn't want a no for answer so they didn't even bother to ask, since it could hurt their image...:ermm:
It could also be a possibility...
I mean, i don't see the Greek government allowing to have big events as such in their antique monuments.

I find the setting quite irrelevant as a discussion to be honest. I think that in TFS we should see beyond that and concentrate around the clothes.
The set looks great and i quite like it. Some don't but the set is really a non-event to discuss as it doesn't really change the perception of the clothes...

Gorgeous.

The tweed always kind of breaks the mood for me; but, other than that, really enjoyed it.

A friend of mine working at Chanel told me the show happened in Paris because Lagerfeld is not in very good shape lately... So it's not about budget. I mean, we talk about the brand that launches a rocket for a 15 min runway show with a thousand models... Money ain't a problem.

Is Karl Lagerfeld "Winding Down" at Chanel?
Insiders are speculating that this week's Chanel Resort show in Paris could be the 83-year-old designer's last.

It is not the first time Chanel has staged its Resort show in France—in recent years, its models have walked the quay of Saint-Tropez, the gardens of Versailles and the grounds of the Hôtel du Cap in Antibes. But according to Chanel sources, this show was originally planned for Lisbon, and was switched to Paris because, as more than one put it, “Karl is not doing well.” When asked about the venue change, a Chanel spokesman said, “I can’t comment on that.”

The talk of the Greek-themed luncheon afterward in the Mini Palais restaurant downstairs was 83-year-old Lagerfeld’s unstable curtain call walk, with its distinct limp and a firm grasp on eight-year-old godson Hudson Kroenig’s hand, and the unusual “no backstage” policy that blocked well-wishers and reporters from approaching Lagerfeld following the show. “You can feel the winding down in-house,” a Chanel source said. “It definitely feels like an era is coming to an end.”

I'm tired of these theme based school project collections karl been doing, it's almost embarrassing at this point.

One thing is sure, we are witenessing Karl last few collections...
He has been less visible in the media, much less out also. I wonder if he still goes to Fendi or if he operates everything from Paris.

At Chanel, they working on the next chapter. Eliane Fisher (the mother of the owners) is like 90+ years old. Alain & Gerard Weirthemer are in their late 60's. The fact that they fired Maureen Chiquet is a clue about the fact that they working in a very private way about the future of the brand.

Couldn't find a place he liked in Greece?!!!!

No one does cliches like Chanel, I love the details and there some nice pieces. On the other hand those sandals are hideous and have been done to death.
