Chanel F/W 2022.23 Paris

A nervous collection, an histerical revision of Chanel codes, like a lot of gossip in the atelier.

You know the collection is bad when not one iPhone is seen in the front row LOL!

But seriously, this was by all accounts one of the most deplorable showings of the season. V.V.’s worst collection to date. She has proven time and time again that she has nothing to add to the fashion conversation. Dull, predictable, and painstaking.

The most exciting part of the show was when someone nearly kicked their invite onto the runway. Other than that, it was a forgettable expeirence. How I wish I could get those 13 minutes back.

I hate everything about this: no vision, no appeal, no beauty.

Time to go, Viriginie (and buy a pair of new jeans) !

It's boring as heck. Like nothing in this collection is worth seeing outside of the Chanel studio. There's no new ideas, no interesting designs, nothing at all even worth discussing. That's the sad part. It's irrelevant.

I see also they have officially run out of Karl's old ideas for set design too. This was the laziest and ugliest set I have ever seen at Chanel. They should have just held the show outside on the street at Rue Cambon. At least it would give the clothes more context than this sad and grey convention centre space. It's so boring and drab, I can see why people couldn't be bothered taking out their iPhones to record any of it. They'd get more interesting photos just waiting outside on the Parisian streets than whatever this was.

It's dangerous design times we live in I tell you because Chanel in 2022 just demonstrates exactly how banal the taste of people is and how they will buy any old trash from the brand if the brand image and hype is powerful enough.

Like, do we even need Viard at this stage? They could just hire an entire room of mid-level designers to come up with random ideas. The clientele clearly doesn't care. As long as it has the CHANEL logo and a few CC's here and there, they're happy!

Its the owners call. I think they still want to keep Karl's identity alive but we should be moving on.
