Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 Paris

in terms of shapes I think it´s pretty much same old same old but I love his take on the puffy jacket (very luxe) and the leather pieces. What I hate are those pants below the knee, they look too much like work out clothes...

First Chanel collection in ages that has been remotely chic. It's pretty good - there are some clunkers, but that's to be expected. Love the all black leather look, in particular. And for once, the hair and makeup is actually attractive!

Good collection, very Ritz (whatever that means) and a very romanticized vision of Paris.

To be honest, it looks like a continuation and a much more casual version of his Couture Casino collection from last year. The strong shoulders, the shoes and the use of feathers is similar in both collections.

My favorite look is the 7th. I love the all tweed everything, from the puffer jacket to the bag. It's soft and i like it.
The menswear is also very strong. Chanel Homme has been quite strong for quite some times now. It's slick and modern without being referencial of a particular time or aesthetic.

I kinda wish the collection had the same spirit.

It's not an extraordinary collection but it's strong enough for Prefall. I think i love the spirit more than the clothes. It's luxurious but it's fun and has quite a casual vibe.

I can't wait to see the video.

Paris in Rome, SS2016 Couture and Paris-Cuba were quite chic IMO...

^^
Karl has a Life Long Contract with Chanel & Fendi. It will not happen unless he decide to leave.
It's selling, the buzz is still there and the Weirthemers & Arnault are happy...

Can we stop everytime with the "Karl retire" or "time to find another designer" thing. It will not happen unless he leaves.

This feels so pointless. Like most Chanel collections in the past years, it's just a bunch of nothing added to more nothing. I don't feel passion in his work anymore, everything is very contrived and formulatic.

It's undeniable what a legend Lagerfeld is and everything he did for fashion, but I'm hoping the strong rumors that he's saying goodbye are true (this show really had that feeling with his favorites on the casting and the location, as with the last Couture show). Chanel has become quite boring and stagnant, they desperately need new life and new blood.

I like it very much, as I expected.
Their Métiers d'Art collections are always the best by far.
It's a pity I need to wait a whole year to get my fix, it does make it more special, but I wish their other collections would be as good as this, or at least close.

Meh.. boring. Always the same thing.

The styling of some looks is very Dolce & Gabbana...which is the last thing I expect to find at a Chanel show.

I like it if only for the fact that it's more streamlined that other collections have been. There aren't a thousand different ideas crammed in. I thought the menswear looked a little like Haider.
