Chanel Pre-Fall 2025 Hangzhou

Feels like VV sneaked her way back again.... lol. Most of it looks heavy handed, dated and confused.

And Hair & MakeUp isn't helping. it's just....diabolic. I am really scared about Chanel atm.

Kind of fascinated by the notion that "what women want" is somehow linked to middle-parted hair, shiny foreheads and strangely shaped eyeliner. This has been going on for a few years now (VV, MGC, etc.) - Is there some kind of market-analysis made by the suits that dictates this look? Even Dick Page would probably powder these T-Zones...

See, now this I can get behind. Quite a good play on shoulders (that somehow seem to be the only thing I can talk about), but in a very recognizable CHANEL way. And the sleeves have a beautiful, subtle volume. The proportions of the whole outfit are not quite right, a little bit frumpy (but that could. also be the boots) and I'm not sure the jacket needed the layered effect, but at least it looks like it was crafted well and proposes something beyond an instant visual gimmick. I even like the horrible early 2000s colour combination of turquoise and sand here! The rest: Who cares. Literally just some dresses, skirts, jackets, ready to be made into logomania merchandise for the nouveau riche cosplaying as bourgeois.

The boots are certainly horrendous. But even replacing the boots with long, naked legs, the clothing still adds 10 lbs to the poor girl. They should have shortened the sleeves or the length of the skirt rather than keeping both long.

That is some fabulous jewelry though. This collection showed only must-have jewelry too. The jewelry was the strongest and have been the creative highlight for a lot of shows Post-Karl.

These remind me of photos of half-mirrored faces they use to show how asymmetrical most faces are:

I like the detail that every piece of jewelry is engraved on the back

If they removed the CC from the pieces I would have bought more...
Goossens offers many interesting designs that people should pay more attention to. Without the annoying logo everywhere.

Very beautiful place, interesting topic, and everything is so heavy. No one there can think in a movie way either, at the end there should be some beautiful red chiffon dress, which would add aura at the end of the finale, plus it is a very important color in Chinese culture.

its called pleasing all the markets / better safe than sorry policy

Chanel, at least for me, is just a go-to for 50+ year old women that want to look and feel expensive, but they want to separate themselves from the youth as much as possible.

This is stuffy, boxy, outdated, and without a single ounce of youth or sexiness in it. Chanel woman is a Saint Laurent man, caricatures and costumes of themselves. Youthful and bland models of Saint Laurent past collection give me the same feeling as here, but that man is a cosplay of an office worker, like a schoolboy trying to appear as his CEO daddy. Chanel woman is the same, but she wants to look like her CEO's wife or boomer cougar mommy. It is so dusty and stale, like eating cold French (pun intended) fries that were delivered hours ago.

The worst part is that as much as I also dislike Jacquemus, Enfants Riches Déprimés, Bode, a lot of current Margiela energy, and so on, I would still prefer these to a Chanel woman or a SL man. At least those do not take themselves seriously and sell their subpar quality apparel with somewhat less branding for a slightly lower price.

People here love to ridicule and despise the idea of Hedi at Chanel, but maybe they should hire him for tailoring TED talks for a season. At least, he would never send a woman looking like that picture above in a turquoise ensemble, looking like she put an Amazon Prime delivery box on her body and painted it light blue.

Or, possibly, that blue tweed ensemble with a pair of denim pants with flower embroidery that looks like a blue brick and two blue tubes sticking out from it.

The one on Jill Kortleve is almost okay, but the stylist decided she needs to show her belly button in the worst way possible, for some reason? It does not look like a confident "look at my figure" playful statement. It looks like a woman, dressed in a Chanel outfit, went to Burger King and after having 5 combos and 3 milkshakes decided that her belly feels too heavy now and she needs to loosen up after a junk food lollapalooza.

The lack of any shape in the majority of those sleeves and waists is diabolical, I don't care even if half of the forum wants to burn me like a witch after this, I will die on this hill.

I loved this collection and the interpretation of the coromandel screens.
It was well executed and staged beautifully for a house that is functioning with out a creative lead.

Despite the mixed reviews, I have to say it's a pretty nice collection compared to the others... Definitely the best of the latest ones

Thank you Chanel for finding a creative director. And thank you for not hiring Inez Vinoodh for tacky films. Hope you saved that money . Or send it to charity of your choice.
