Chanel S/S 2020 Paris

Virginie has an unenviable job but as time ticks on and with the way the industry moves now this Chanel won't last.

She is « Marie S’infiltre »...A comedian/YouTuber that does pranks or funny videos.
Giving how tight the security was, she was surely invited by the house...

Nah, I've snuck into Chanel before. Not that hard.

It's funny though everyone was saying Karl was out of ideas and lost his touch years before his death. Now that he's gone, everyone is a lot softer on him. Everyone wants the new prodigy designer to swoop in and make groundbreaking clothes but realistically the big bosses would never allow that to happen.

Nobody expect or want Chanel to turn into CDG...
While some people criticized Karl’s Chanel, it sold very well. The people who bought it enjoyed it all the way...From the ridiculous shows to te novelty bags..
I’m not sure that going from excess to boredom is fine either...
Virginie has total creative control over the fashion department. The Weirthermer are a lot less intruisive than the Arnault for example....
They don’t even live in France.

This fashion month highlighted the fact we don't need no clothes no more or less at least. It's like seeing the same collection over and over - not only talking about Chanel - overusing the codes of the house and declining them in every possible form.

You are absolutely correct. We don’t new clothes, we need new fashion. There is a big difference.

You really think Chanel won't last? Chanel one of the most profitable companies in the world and cemented itself in Parisian history and in fashion...

Rather hyperbolic of me. Should have stated Virginie Chanel won't last. Although she's still there and will probably be for a while, her time has been uneventful. IMO. But as you mention Chanel aesthetic is cemented and is it really worth changing?

Actually after writing that comment I was thinking. Chanel before Karl revived it had its aesthetic and perfume but they were struggling real hard. Whose to say it won't happen again? Or for the meantime before they find someone else to make it different and new, people won't move on to another brand?
