Chanel S/S 2021 Paris

I like this. But so many of the printed fluo silk pieces should have been kept for pre-collection. Her problem is that her main collections still all look like the Act 1 collections she was responsible for under KL.

Also, the film and shots that I&V did are very cinematic. What got lost in translation?

Now Chanel... I love to hate on it. Thank you Virginie, for continuing to give me entertainment.

Dreadful. <3

The saddest part of it all is that this actually is possibly her best collection and that right there tells you that she is the wrong “designer” for this brand

Her best collection yet it's mediocre at best. It's like Chanel and Dior are in competition for the most boring maisons. I mean if they think she's a cleansing palette for another big CD, they have certainly achieve that. Her designs are as plain as a white canvas.

I wanted her to succeed but now she's officially part of the "not good enough to be a creative director" list; the one headed by Frida Giannini, Kris Van Assche, Alessandra Facchinetti, etc...

For sure her best collection i must say but that's all i got...The standards that the Maestro set will NEVER be reached it will take a good few years (and a couple of CD changes ) before we get back to some sort of level that we are used to at Chanel ...

Facchinetti!? She was good! Too bad Valentino wore his best « YSL/Bergé » and became petty about it!
This is true. Her Valentino was gorgeous and fresh and interesting and full of possibility. I still remember her only Couture collection as something really special. And looking what we get from PPP now, it's really too bad she didn't work out.

If there’s one designer who was treated unfairly and who never got the opportunity to show her full potential, it’s her!

I think what I love the most about her is that despite being very versatile, she always had a very feminine and modern sensibility. She is the woman she is designing for.

Even if her hiring for the Valentino job was shady, I think Mr Valentino could have been more elegant...I really loved the fact that Armani was supportive of her!

PPP is good as a designer for Valentino but it’s pity that he doesn’t use his hype to do interesting things. He just do clothes!

I would love to see Fachinetti do Couture again. She is doing costume design and it’s still great! She hasn’t lost one bit of her talent!

Like three posts at major fashion houses (Gucci, Valentino, Tod's) are not enough to show one's potential? Seriously?!
Like many designers grown in the shadows of Tom Ford, I think she's talented and professional, but never showed any sign of real vision, a bit like Frida and Clare, to make it clear.
Her Valentino was labour-intensive but without the label stitched on you would have never guessed what it was, it could have been Valli at a quick glance. But I agree that she probably needed more time to develop her ideas.
I think she did a good job at Tod's, but again, the product was wonderful, the design not distinctive enough. And, lat's say it, Tod's RTW is a lost cause.

Also, I have a feeling that if you manage to be fired so quickly from three different brands, it might have something to do with your overall attitude and temper...

No no no, Facchinetti definitely does not belong on this list. Her time at Valentino was impeccable and I am severely disappointed she is not in the spotlight at a major house at the moment as she totally deserves it. In fact, I'd prefer her here at Chanel than VV. The rest on your list can stay, though.
