Cheryl Cole

Exactly! It was a smart move on her part. She is going to get sh*t from people either way:

-singing while dancing which will probably make it hard for her to stay on tune
-miming it on a competition where they compete on singing abilities and battling nerves.

The best thing she could do, imo, is put on a good show with lots of dancing so that eventhough she's had the song prerecorded, she can still give a solid performance as a solo artist for the first time!

:flower: thanks, do you know if it will be on iTunes? i didn't see it :(

Thank you!!!!! :woot: :p

yes it will when i said it was released i mean physically  sorry you know the music video is shown and everything but yeah you can download the single on itunes next Saturday

My thoughts about Cheryl miming:

Extremely hypocritical. If you can't sing, don't be a fricking solo singer, or better yet, don't judge others on being singers either.

Yes, many ppl mime. That's something she can maybe do when she's proven herself as a solo artist, and isn't doing it on the show she judges on.

Bottom line is: does she have the goods to back up a solo career or not? That's what everyone wants to know. Miming doesn't count, sorry. Not only that, but wouldn't you think she's WANT to prove herself for her own sake? Also, if she "can't dance" and she "can't sing" then WHY is she an entertainer? Her talent should be able to speak for itself or she's just a brilliantly marketed popstar/celebrity!

Digital Spy reports she won't mime:

Cheryl Cole has reportedly rubbished claims that she is planning to mime on The X Factor this weekend.

The judge, who is scheduled to perform her debut solo single 'Fight For This Love' on Sunday night, confirmed that she will pre-record her performance with a live vocal earlier in the day.

"I really don't see the problem. I will be singing live," The Evening Standard quotes her as saying.

"I just won't have time to get changed and get prepared for the performance, and be a judge on the show. It would be too hectic."

Cole, who performed 'The Promise' with Girls Aloud last year on the show, admitted that she feels "absolutely terrified" about singing by herself.

"I love performing but I've sat for weeks judging people and now I'm putting myself out there to be judged," she said.

Whitney Houston is also confirmed to perform on Sunday's live show, which is broadcast on ITV1 from 7.45pm.

She's quoted in the London papers today as saying that all artists do it at some point, and that Miley Cyrus, Take That and Girls Aloud all pre-recorded their performances for X-Factor last year.

At the end of the day, I'd like her to sing live, but it's not a HUGE issue that she's miming. I agree with her on the point that she has sung live, she has got through auditions, and into a band, sung live in concerts many, many times. It takes nothing away from her ability to judge people's singing. At all. It's just a shame she wont be doing it on X-Factor.

Let's face it. If it was you and you were singing in the same show as Whitney Houston would you want to risk bum notes and being out of tune? Doubt it.

in my personal opinion, its still considered live. i mean look at all the people who play their album track then mime to it! ridiculous

Most European shows don't have the performers sing live, especially French ones, nearly EVERY performance is prerecorded or mimed. It never bothers me when they do though, I just like seeing performances however they are

Cheryl to mime on X Factor: reports

Cheryl Cole will perform her debut solo single on X Factor this weekend, but, according to reports, the Girls Aloud star will be miming.
According to the Daily Mail, Cheryl will record her vocals several hours before X Factor goes to air, and will then mime during the ‘live’ show. An X Factor spokesperson has confirmed the performance of Fight For This Love won’t be totally live: “Cheryl will be recording her music performance earlier in the day with a live studio audience to ensure she can fully continue with her judging commitments on The X Factor later that evening.”
This comes after Alexandra Burke was accused of lip-synching during her performance of Bad Boys on last week’s X Factor results show, while, just minutes, later, Robbie Williams clearly sang 100% live.
In my opinion, Alexandra seemed to be singing live (in some parts, at least) but over the top of a pre-recorded backing track. If Alexandra did mime, I’m sure it wasn’t her idea – the whole marketing campaign for Bad Boys is based around the dancing and the spectacle, more than the song itself. I have no doubt that when the time comes to promote Alexandra’s next single, thought to be the ballad Overcome, she will belt it out on telly without any need for a backing track.
As for Cheryl, her vocals aren’t as strong as protégé Alexandra’s, so I’m not surprised she’s decided to take the safe option and pre-record her performance. What do you think – should a judge on a live talent show, where all the contestants are made to sing 100% live, be allowed to lip-synch?

Yes... but those are different types of shows like "Top of the Pops" etc.

It's no wonder she gets so horribly nervous about these things, look at all this attention! She must be bricking it right now, whether she's miming/pre-recording it or not.

Personally I don't see why she wouldn't sing live, it's not like she's not capable.

Cheryl is going to perform on the x factor this week! Can't wait! Whitney Houston on the show too!!

Poor thing... unless she KILLS it purely live, she can't win at this point. I would be shaking in "me boots".

I don't know why she's doing it, really. You could see how horribly nervous she was with GA last year, messing up her vocals, and she hasn't got Nadine backing her up this time. Poor Chezza.

^ She looked suitably mortified on the show last week when Dermot announced she would be singing 'live' this weekend.

She said on the Radio 1 interview that she has a special surprise lined up in the performance which is one of the reasons why she can't do the song completely live. I think the best thing she can do is have it pre recorded but put on a show with a lot of dancing and movement. People came to see a show and thats what she should give them. I think that would be the best possible option for her. Plus, an ideal first solo performance wouldn't be on a show that's featuring Whitney Houston right after/before. She should focus on her strengths and do what she does best which is put on a show and shut the haters up.

I think it'll be a big dance performance, with a big wardrobe change, to make it seem like she definately could have done it all live.

Her Girls Aloud performance was infact prerecorded also, so it's a wonder they let her vocals slip..
