Huh? Jil Sander is moving? I'm suprised they don't close completely, that place is always deserted.

*GASP!* I LOOOOOOVE Jil Sander! Thats the BEST place ever! Also if you ever go in there ask for Jazmin. SHe is one of hte best SA's I have ever met in my life! SHe even takes you to the door and opens it for you, and tells you good! (Even if you didnt buy anything!)

I like Jil Sander too and it WOULD be sad if they closed, I just wouldn't be suprised to see it happen. I just can't imagine that that store makes a profit. The SA's are nice at Jil, my favorite SA's are at Barney's though. I like how they send handwritten thank you notes for shopping with them sometimes. It's a really nice touch.

Jared Is Probably Going to bite my head off when I say this:D
But what is the big deal with ppl an Marshall Fields Turning to Macys?
When I went to Chicago Downtown Marshall Fields was very nice but the suburban ones were just like anyother run of the mill department store.
Macys seems just the same way..some have Versace,Hugo Boss,D&G,etc an some are kind of plain.
So why are PPL so upset? its not like its Barneys Turning into Macys

Chicago Artists Stage Events Outside the Loop

(Chicago, IL) The Lucid Artists Co-op Gallery is hosting a party to celebrate Chicago’s native fashion designers and artists. The event, “Outside the Loop,” is on Wednesday September 20th, from noon to midnight at the Congress Theater, located at 2135 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago, IL 60647.

Outside the Loop, where fine art and fashion converge, will include DJs, drinks, free food and fashion shows, a Madd Hatter Tea Party, site specific art installations, and artists selling wearable art, as well as paintings, sculpture and multimedia projections by the Lucid’s artists. Admission includes all access, free food and 2 free drink tickets. The suggested donation is $10.00 from noon until 5pm and $15.00 after 5pm for evening activities. For more information call 312.799.9478 or email: [email protected].

Media Partner WXRT-FM is joined by Outside the Loop’s, co-sponsors Smartwater and the Congress Theatre. The event is meant to highlight the work of artists and designers working outside the mainstream in a variety of styles and media. This is part of the Lucid Artists Co-op Gallery’s vision of creating an inviting environment for new audiences, and providing opportunities for artists to put their work before the public.

Outside the Loop collaborators include; [wired], FLUXCORE, aloft aerial dance, Merkaba Visual, Tea Hee Hee, Encore Talent Agency, art + science salons, Benefit Cosmetics (launching 5 new stores in the Chicago area), City Soles and Habit a design collective (recently named by Chicago Magazine as Chicago’s “Best Boutique”.) While some of Chicago’s hottest DJs provided by Ron Sager and FLUXCORE spin all day, audiences can enjoy cocktails and food while browsing the dozens of wearable art vendors and close to 100 artists’s works represented. Melissa Kolbusz of [wired], her own line of jewelry entirely handmade from recycled materials, in collaboration with Likalee and members of FLUXCORE and aloft aerial dance, opens her site specific human and multimedia installation starting at noon. The Madd Hatter Tea Party at 2:30pm will include a real show of Chicago chapeaus and Tea Hee Hee, custom blended by Chicago’s own Heather Rae Cheszek. Lindsey Boland, owner and curator of Habit a design collective, will show her own line, Superficial Inc., along with Lineamente by Katrin Schnabl and Sutana by Laddhavan Sutana. Their ethereal fashion shows at 6:30pm and 10:30pm will include shoes from City Soles, models from Encore Talent Agency, makeup by Benefit and hair by art + science.

Not for men though... but Macy's on State (that sounds so wrong) picked up Marc by Marc, and I think the Barney's Co-Op store still has it for men. I was just at Barney's yesterday and they didn't have Marc Jacobs mainline... I don't know if they dropeed it or if it just hasn't arrived yet. The Lanvin Homme stuff just arrived though. Not my style really but it seems very well made. I stopped by Jake too and they have some of the new McQ line.
