Chicago shopping

Tory Burch is really blowing up she has stores everywhere. As for the scoop vs intermix I prefer scoop only because they have mens clothes but their website is horrible none of the cool clothing/brands i saw instore were available online I hate when stores do that.

Tory Burch does seem to be doing really well in Chicago - and not just the ballet flats.

Scoop vs. Intermix - I don't really have a personal preference (is it just me or are they remarkably similar?), but I think that Intermix has the better location - their merchandise and price points fit right in the Gold Coast and Lincoln Park (once that location is open).

Has anyone been to SHE boutique on Armitage yet? They just had their opening party last Thursday, seems like a fairly decent spot.

I've passed by SHE a few times but have yet to stop in. Do you know what designers they sell there/price points? Where is the intermix opening in lincoln park?

Also, does anyone know when the Marc By Marc Jacobs in Bucktown is opening? I know they said late summer but is there an exact date yet?

Just stopped in at Barneys and for any guys interested, they're picking up McQueen, Simons, and Prorsum this season.

Oh, also, Burberry at 633 N Michigan is having a Prorsum trunk show for men and women on tuesday the 12th 12PM-5PM. I think its the first time they're doing this, trying to build up the Prorsum client base in Chicago.

They haven't carried Prorsum before? Wow, I'm surprised.

Well the Burberry shop has carried Prorsum for as long as I've known, but I think this is the first time they're bringing in the whole collection and doing a trunk show. According to the SA I talked to they're trying to broaden awareness and get more people into it. She also said that only 3 Burberry shops in the US carry Prorsum: Chicago, NY and LA. I'm looking forward to the trunk show, there aren't too many trunk shows that do mens as well as womens, anybody else going?

About SHE - they carry Alvin Valley, Ditto and Anlo denim, Madison Marcus, Sweetface, Twinkle, etc. Price points are around $100-500. I don't think the Intermix in Lincoln Park is open yet, although I remember hearing that was supposed to open in May at the grand opening party for the Gold Coast store.

That's exciting!!!! But I have a (stupid) question.... What exactly is a trunk show???!?

Yea Intermix opened in the Gold Coast.....the party was okay but boring...Oprah was supposed to show up but she didnt. Lisa Ling and local designer Orlando Espinoza were the only ones I noticed...:innocent:

Michelle Rahn (bridal), Diego Rochas (handbags) and Kristen Amato (jewelry) were there too (as was I). The most interesting thing at the party was probably the mojitos, although the photographer doing the pictures and then handing them out was kind of a nice touch. At least it was a little different.

Anyone go to the Streets of Chicago: Style Fusion fashion show at Kit Kat Club? The clothes were kind of amateur but the hair was cool in that "hair as art" way (the Sin Qua Non Salon did it).

Random PSA for anyone in Chicago - the Lazar Sample Sale with Isaac Mizrahi collection bags and Reem Acra gowns starts tomorrow - www.lazarmedia.com.
