In all honesty, she's just Bohan 2.0. When the Arnaults decide to put Dior in the artistic limelight again, they'll consider pushing a more "fashion" oriented creative director. Let's just hope that it won't take 37 years this time. The true offense is the set design. It’s a bizarre choice. Surely she knows she’s doing very very accessible collections, then either present it dry or with more experience. This is so in the middle.
The collection lacks dreams. This is super hard to market or contextualise.
This probably moves product, but it’s not creating legacy - and this will hurt the brand in the long term. They must know this at lvmh.
I am sure the ateliers would have done better collections without her directions.I always imagine the ateliers finishing this in the first month and spending the five remaining months laughing at their bosses behind their backs.

In all honesty, MGC has a good body of work, but it should all be under the roof of Chanel or Vionnet. It's too overly serious and inoffensive for Dior.I'm probably the only fan of Maria Grazia Chiuri here on TFS.
You all know how much I appreciate her very wearable very practical haute couture.
But dear god, this is BORING!!!
I totally get it, it's beautifully done and there's some nice techniques. But for the most part this looks like it could be from anywhere or at least from the ready to wear collection..
I looked through the detail shots hoping that there would be something more to it.... and technically there is. There's a lot tiny all-over beading used throughout... but to what effect?
What's worse is that the collection is a tribute to Josephine Baker.
She had Josephine Baker as inspiration and this is all she came up with!?!?!?
Really?!?!?
