Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2025 Kyoto

Less terrible than her last offerings. The Asian references are better integrated here than at Chanel's Hangzhou Métiers d'Art.
Colourwise, it is the same long agony in black and beige, as always.
Some beautiful pieces.
After eight years she's showing improvement.
Maybe Dior should consider renewing her contract for another five years. It looks like MGrazia' s imperial phase is about to start.

😜

There were some somewhat interesting looks from this pile of stuff...

a few things…

I have seen nothing about this show on social media, I didn’t even know it happened and I’ve spent quite a bit of time on IG today.

It’s nice on a commercial level but for a show I am bored to tears. That said, her commercial offering is better than what was in stores when John was CD, which was quite matronly in hindsight.

I cannot wait for her to be out.

Did she transformed an obi into a fanny pack?? Really??

Not sure if they made the whole show to celebrate the richness and beauty of the Japanese culture; or to mourn the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki...it has a sad, depressive vibe. Mary Grace, we know they have given you the boot...but think about the final check and cheer up, darling!!

Yes I saw absolutely no coverage anywhere but I think that has a lot to do with the recent China scandals, They are for sure going to be hit hard by this. Also in America we have multiple scandals going on and I think fashion is about to take a gigantic backseat.

Now we will finally see how much she really cares about feminist causes. We will see if she is willing to spend her own money to empower and champion female talent and causes rather than just using the LVMH pocket book and other people’s resources.

It's very repetitive and reminds me of Pinterest mood boards. She is using lavish detailing to infuse romanticism, but it is often too much. The accessories are forgettable. Even the silhouettes are diluted. Overall, a rather tepid collection lacking an edge.

I'm just going to leave the below photo from JG's Spring 2007 Haute Couture Collection as my comment.

And I think it’s best to keep this in the year in which it belongs…

This collection is fine. It’s pre-fall. Product fodder and the clients will find something of worth in here (more than the past collections perhaps because the pants offerings are rather nice).
