Honest question: has anyone seen his sketches somewhere?The really fustrating about the collection (and his debut) is that he has a lot of great ideas, but the execution is always really clumsy. It's like he designs everything in 2D, without thinking about how it behaves on the body. The drapey denim skirts are tripping hazards for no reason, the "sculptural" evening dresses have a lot of bulk around the waistline, the bias cut dresses looks sloppy. On the flipside, MGC had one idea that was done extremely well.
I actually think that he works on the body and mannequin directly and that maybe sketches are done after. Or discussions, ideas, collages, samples of fabrics or details and then sketch to have the concept locked.Honest question: has anyone seen his sketches somewhere?
