Christian Dior S/S 2017 : May & Ruth Bell by Brigitte Lacombe

^ Seriously, Yikes.

Big no to all of this. If I wanted more sad teenagers I'll just go back and look at Hedi's Saint Laurent campaigns.

It's modern, it's the new Dior but it's also very juvenile. The question is "Is this Dior?".
It's still very confused for me...And kinda pretentious in it need to be conscious of feminism while selling logo tshirts.

It's clear they are trying to steal some Chanel clients. They looks like a depressing version of Lily Rose.
Too bad this doesn't have the joie de vivre and the spirit of Chanel.

Good for Brigitte Lacombe..

I don't like the style but I still find some of what they're wearing appealing. The cuts are very pretty.

it looks like some extremly girly brand or whatever, but not DIOR!
feel disappointed!

I was so excited when I saw "Brigitte Lacombe" but this is so blah boring!

Two has-beens by a relatively unknown photographer, really Dior? You can do better than that, especially cause this looks just like Demarchelier or Vanderperre.

To me it's fine, it's refreshing to see Dior more accessible after Raf (I like Raf though). It's maybe simple but I do like new spirit and both models look lovely.

Worse, actually! Lacombe made Demarchelier's last campaign look good. I love her to bits, but she wasn't the right person to shoot this collection! She's normally a big fan of strong, distinguished wild-card women. Not sure what happened here, probably Dior pushed for these Bell girls.
And the fact that this is Chiuri's first campaign is even more shocking. Of course the 'youth' angle was to be expected, but must it be so lifeless and contrived?

How immature! The models choice could have been seen from miles away after seeing the show and the recent Vogue Japan cover. And the more often I see this collection the worse it gets. What a disappointing start for Dior with Maria.

At least Raf put some thoughts in the campaign. This looks like low-budget teen campaign.

Lacombe is an interesting and refreshing choice for this campaign. Wonder if she will be to Dior what Glen Luchford has been in defining the look and feel of Gucci. The images are quite delicate and beautiful full size. There is a fresh chic young simplicity and the Bell sisters look lovely. Its not groundbreaking but I continue to be intrigued by Maria's Dior.

If this is the direction which Chiuri wants to take, then good luck to her. She'll need it. It's more lifeless and colder than Raf's Dior. Furthermore, I've never thought of Lacombe as a fashion photographer.

Between the clothes and the models, it looks more like "Christian Dior Kids" to me... What a boring campaign !!
Also, what happened with the logo?!

We're already missing Julia Nobis...

Some pics seem to come out of a Zara Kids campaign. Weird...

The change of the logo says more about the brand than the new aesthetic. It's somehow unfair that Raf couldn't be as influencial as Maria is now. But on the other hand I don't predict that Maria will be so successful with collections and campaigns like this one.

I like the photography but these are not the right models, or maybe they are because Dior was going for this lackluster feel.
