I think the real issue I take with this is not that the video is skanky (and lets face it, it is), but more that she has blasted girls like Britney Spears for doing the exact same thing.

Agreed...plus, she has said in numerous interviews how she tried the whole "sexy" thing and it just wasn't right for her, and that people could see through her act because she didn't feel comfortable being like britney/christina. I guess large amounts of money can make some people comfortable with anything.

It's funny. I remember reading an interview where she basically said she wouldn't do the things Britney and Christina did in their videos and now look at her. Her most recent video is one step up from Christina's Dirty video. I remember her saying that if you have talent you don't need to do those things but I'm sure her reasoning now would be 'Oh, it's for the film, I'm playing Daisy Duke in the video'. I've never seen Dukes of Hazzard, was Daisy Duke a floozy?

Completely agree. I don't care if she wants to prance around in skimpy bathing suits but she shouldn't try and act like she's a role model and diss brit and christina for acting the exact same way.

Well, anywho. . .I think it's slightly ridiculous that they felt the need to form "a resistance group" against Jessica Simpson. What’s so wrong with women being comfortable with their bodies? She isn't doing anything wrong by wearing skanky clothes.

I haven't seen the video. I hear that she is washing a car while wearing a bathing suit (albeit a bikini). I wear bikinis, and I wear a bathing suit while washing a car (i mean, it just makes sense). I don't see the skankiness in that. So there must be more too it. Is she straddling the hose or something? Or trying to hump the hubcaps?

As for her compared to britney spears and christina aguilera, I think their level of skankiness exceeds wearing a wet bathing suit (ie. they probably wouldbe straddling the hose, or doing it naked, or faking having sex with some guy on the hood).

Not a fan, but jessica still seems VERY conservative compared to those other two. I don't think the three of them are nearly on the same level.
