That Brian Atwood has a very "atwoodesqe" shape. I think the arch looks different from a CL IMO. Anyways, all this talk of the red sole though- can someone clear this up- I thought the red sole had finally been patented by CL. So basically no one else can use it right?

They do look a lot alike. CL has been doing this upper on different soles (wedges, etc.) for years though. It can't really be called a knock off. :flower:

But Brian Atwood is often VERY inspired by others.... :)

I sure hope not.

hello everyone,my first post here....talking of copying, louboutin is no less bad at that.the palace sandal for example was copied from tom ford's gucci ss 04,then he also copied the seude 5'in loafers from yves saint laurent ss o5.actually im a big fan of louboutin but lately im really tired of his generating of designs from his same designs.prive',piaggale etc.anyway hes not to be blamed as thats the peoples demand.

Only for a specific color formula. A slight change in hue or shade would clear that hurdle. Red isn't really red after all. CL red is not the only red.

Re: red sole patent -
Echoes, that's very true. I guess that can't really be policed.
Welcome kakaposh!

No matter who coined the red sole shoe first, Louboutin still makes some lovely shoes whether sandals or pumps. Closed-toe or open-toe (includes peep-toes). Really elite shoes for those who have the money to afford them. I've grown fond of Louboutin as much as I've grown fond of Oscar de la Renta for his clothing designs. I have liked a great variety of shoes that I've seen in this thread.

louboulover The red sole has been patented so others aren't supposed to use it. Miu Miu was doing a pink sole last season, and I've seen some others (including Chanel) using red. Still, the red is supposed to be exclusive and CL can sue if he so chooses. ;)

I just got my Decolletes zipsoled. They feel and look so much better now!

Any shoe cobbler should be able to do it...I got the soles from ebay and took them to my local cobbler in the mall that I usually use.
