Following the heated debate over Christina Hendricks’ choice of a champagne ruffled gown by Project Runway alum Christian Siriano at the Golden Globes, the Mad Men star’s husband, Geoffrey Arend, is fighting back. At a SAG awards after party, Arend stopped to defend his wife to PEOPLE. “I was just upset about the whole Golden Globes dress thing. I thought she looked so gorgeous. And that New York Times blogger saying that… It’s so ridiculous,” he said, referring to the paper’s fashion critic, Cathy Horyn offering the critique “You don’t put a big girl in a big dress. That’s rule number one”. Arend contines, “What was nice was seeing the entire internet come after that blogger. That was really cool. It was the first time I saw just a solid block of ‘You’re crazy! What’s wrong with you? You should be ashamed of yourself!’ [in the comments.] And honestly, the Grey Lady should be ashamed of themselves to print a picture like that, that they widened!” In an update to her column, Horyn acknowledged that the original photo used in her post was accidentally distorted: “The photo was slightly distorted inadvertently due to an error during routine processing. The photograph has been replaced,” she wrote. For her part, Hendricks is standing by her Siriano gown: “I loved it! I thought I looked gorgeous!” she told PEOPLE. We agree—as does her proud husband, who gushes, “Honestly, she’s the greatest woman I know. She’s the most beautiful woman I know. She’s the most talented woman I know. It’s like there’s not enough adjectives that could express or superlatives that could express how wonderful she is.” –reporting by Jessica Wedemeyer

I thought she looked great. She pulled the colour off without looking washed out.

I thought she looked great as well, very unabashed.. and in a good way. Its great her husband is speaking out for her.

I completely agree with this! I thought she looked so gorgeous! I actually think the dress flattered her hourglass figure very nicely, and the coor was perfect with her bright hair and pale skin. I couldn't believe it when some prominent bloggers bashed her.

am i the only one having jayne mansfield déjà vu? remember that infamous image of jayne kind of smothering sophia loren with top-heavy spillage at some awards show? that dress on her reminds me of that a lot.

Great that her husband stood up for herB)
Christina is a stunning, voluptuous lady and she looked amazing at the Golden Globes. Just because she doesn't fit the general standard nowadays, doesn't mean she doesn't look good.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but what this woman said is just stupid and she can stick her rules where the sun don't shine.:ninja: I think rule No2 to her would be.....shut you're mouth.

Exactly, Hendricks is a stunning woman, I think the more she should embrace her curves than to listen to dimwitted critics.

To be honest, I thought the dress complements her and fits her like no other, a "small" girl would be less fitting for this dress.

Not all women look good skinny and have to be skinny. Period.

And wouldnt be boring if everyone in Hollywood looks the same way?

The photo was accidently distorted?! I don't buy that for a second.

This woman is stunning, and it's wonderful to hear that even she thought she looked gorgeous that night.

It was one of the best looks of the evening, thank you very much!

^^ It really was one of the best looks of the night.

I love that her husband is sticking up for her.

Christina is drop dead gorgeous and a very talented actress.

Hated that look.

She looked like a saukerat being squeezed very tightly into saran wrap. Her breasts are really pillow-smothering-big and look like they're about to burst out and attack someone. That big cascade of ruffles do nothing for her either.

Are there other pictures? The one on the right above looks 'squeezed'. I'm not sure which one is more natural, but I don't see a problem with the dress.

What the hell is wrong with people? She looked f**king fierce!!!

Gorgeous woman - she could play Aphrodite in a film, she's stunning.

When it said "Christina Henricks" and "controversial", I thought it would be really alarming. I don't see what the big deal is. She looks perfectly fine the way she is...

she has never looked bad, really. Not on TV not on the red carpet

I can see where she is coming from, however I do think she looks pretty.

Perhaps if Christina's breasts were not accentuated so much, the look would have been nicer. I personally think that when large breasted women have their assets pushed up and out it makes them look a little tacky.
