The singer, who has not had a top ten hit in the US since 2004 with Dip It Low, has been announced as the newest face to sign up for season two of The Voice.

The 30-year-old will be the new social media correspondent for the show.

She said: 'I'm heavily involved on Twitter, have always been involved with my Internet fanbase and find that that's the best way to connect with the fans.

'I got a call one day and met up with everyone at NBC and the folks from 'The Voice,' and next thing you know, a week later, I'm signing a contract and the following week I'm working.'
