Christopher Kane S/S 2014 London

His resort collection was one of my favourites, so I had high hopes for his s/s show. Too bad he didn't follow the same direction.

It feels rather one note, and unexplored, he could have really pushed some ideas further.

gigantic metallic see-through teardrops - how cool is that!
love this collection. best so far in London.

the teardrop pieces are horrible

and then those dresses afterwards are amazing!

i really like the ending as well, i think this is a really interesting collection

I like it, those metallic dress look really interesting, would love to see the fabrics !! I like most of it...I couldnt believe I say this but I love it. Just a little bit remarked on some silhouette is a little bit awkward.
I can finally see his bright future

He always stays true to himself -- and for that reason, to me, he never falters. Beautiful collection.

I don't love everything and sometimes it feels a bit like several different collections put into one. However I think it's a very solid collection with a lot of stellar looks. The sleek part especially with those gorgeous fluid dresses is amazing.

At times quirky and at times diaphanously beautiful, this is a very Kane-like collection. He has his usual ruling metaphor - spring showers and summer flowers - that he sticks to throughout. Some of the dresses and solid black pieces are real knockouts, just gorgeous, and some of the more literal botanical pieces are less so, but overall it's a fun collection. 55 looks might be a bit much though.

Once again, too many ideas in one collection. After Kering's backing he has been producing too many looks, with only a fraction of them being good or necessary. The pieces with the giant raindrop/petal cut outs were nice in the beginning but quickly got overwhelming - the cut outs looked randomly placed on those sack-fitting dresses, skirts, and tops. The white dresses with the tulle inserts were quite nice. Then again the pieces with textbook diagram of a flower were a cool idea but then he dragged it through too many looks and it became gimmicky. The small section of pieces with the bejeweled brooches, sleeves, and neckline (#41-47) was lovely, out of place but truly lovely. Overall the collection was not awful, but suffered greatly from improper editing. Majority of it was superfluous.

I think the fluid part with silky dresses looked a little bit out of place. However, the teardop (or maybe those were petals?) details and in-your-face flower theme was outstanding.
