Christopher Kane S/S 08 London

i find it funny that everyone's slagging it off to high heaven when you'll all be wearing ripped jeans next summer..... :innocent:
I already wear partially ripped jeans, and I do it alot better than Christopher Kane doesB:(lol:

After watching the video I'm completely convinced the break in was planned, and here's why.

If the collection turned out to be good, the positive would be magnified because of how short the amount of time was between the break in and the show and how he managed to pull it together.

If, as we saw, the collection was the most vile thing to walk a runway since last season's collection, people would just be like "well, half the collection was stolen, so he's not entirely to blame."

Genius the likes of which I've never seen.

AGREED!!!!!

By the way, this collection is hard to swallow...

i've been waiting for this show for the longest, and i'm not disappointed. i think it's different but it's still a pretty collection. i like it.

im not so convinced that the whole stolen collection thing was a set up. i mean, i can see how it could have been a publicity stunt, but when it comes down to it, its the clothes he would have shown either way. if the collection stinks, it stinks. it doesnt make it any better for me, or more impressive knowing that it had been sewn in a couple weeks. especially knowing it was christopher kane, im sure he had every sample maker in europe sewing away at the collection, so maybe im not as sympathetic. and its not like it was a particularly intricate collection to sew, at least compared to his first collections.

i must say, not what i expected from him, but better than most of last season. way less in your face, a little bit more discrete. i am happy he took a different route, kind of a new way of looking at ck but still him. it was a very different interpretation of excess, you werent bombarded with color and lace and crystals but instead mountains of ruffles. i do admit i like the soft shades of blue that have just a hint of animal print, as long as its not to overboard, (which some of it is)

i would never ever wear ripped knee jeans. they are hideous.
i didnt even wear them when they were in around 1-2 years ago

I actually kind of like it. I really like the first and last songs in the video and feel like it compliments the theme of the show but the middle two songs are HORRENDOUS! They are the ugliest songs I've ever heard!

I cant swallow it at all.. imagine your next door neighbor on it ! TACKY!!!

also I suppose he is a fashion designer not a DJ, i can't listen the song just seeing the pics, so it doesn't effect my perception fo this collection

i like this, the ruffles are gorgeous and chiffon seems to be a definite trend across the board.

And for those who already do?

For me it's not that he showed ripped jeans (though if they cost any more than $70. he's overcharging) it's that they're badly ripped jeans.

While he was getting robbed, so was Vince Neil from Metallica.

let's see what mower has to say...

Sarah Mower has been singing his praises since that acid-derivative collection last year.

Why? Why? She found Nothing critical to say about him. How could she mistake redundancy with reiteration?

Marios Schwab is so much better than this guy, yet Kane is hailed as the savior of LFW. How is this possible?

This is REALY BAD!!! i was never a big fan of Kane, but this is just awful!

I haven't had the internet for 5 days and I log on and find this. I'm so confused. I like some pieces but honestly I think people are so desperate to save London , to find the next McQueen etc that they're placing hype and praise upon those who are doing anything that appears the slightest bit different or "revolutionary".

I love when people say things like 'oh you'll all be wearing ripped jeans next summer' maybe we should all be praising jessica simpson then since she still wears them? This is terrible. I can't believe people think this is 'fresh'. For how many years have people been doing tiered skirts and dresses? This all feels quite dated to me. The only good thing were the bandage dresses. Go back to that please.

It might not be fresh but it seems like quite a few designers have followed suit with the tiered dresses and skirts. Bohemian and hippie chic seems to be making a comeback on the high fashion scene it seems.
