there will never be another christy... she had it all... perfect face, great body, she could look sexy and inocent at the same time... great on runway, even better on photos...

^I've always felt that Christy was lacking something as a model. Sure, she was beautiful and all. But there was always something lacking in her. I always had a hard time viewing her as anything more than Linda Evangelista's sidekick.

And I've always thought that the runway was her weakness. I never liked her walk. She looked almost pigeon-toed when she walked. She had a great body, but her walk left a lot to be desired. I wish she would've had a more confident runway walk, like Yasmeen Ghauri's walk.

Interesting that you mention this, Spiral, which made me think of a recent brief article that I saw with Christy:

But it's been 11 years since Christy Turlington hung up her Choos - and she's got a confession...

She hated modelling.
She told Tatler magazine it wasn't her dream job:
"It was a dull point in fashion and a lot of energy got projected on to us to generate some excitement.
"And I guess that's why it'll probably never happen again, because it was all smoke and mirrors."
"When I was a teenager working as a model part-time it was fine.
"But as soon as I was only a model I hated it.
"I hated the idea that that's who you are, and that's who you're perceived as."
Since retiring, Christy's been to uni and got herself a degree, as well as marrying actor Ed Burns and having two kids.

It would probably be much easier to ask who she hasn't done runway for! Don't know if she's ever walked for Miyake, but she has for just about everyone else.

ETA: not sure if she's ever done Chanel, either, now that I think of it.

Yes, she not only modeled for Chanel, but she also appeared in several Chanel ads in the early 1990s.

Of course she modeled for Chanel - if only I'd have had the foresight to browse the link to the photos that I posted, I'd have seen her in a black CC bikini! I was mostly thinking of Karl's shows in the late 80s and early 90s... for some reason I didn't think of spring 94!
