Supermodel Cindy Crawford has made the astonishing revelation that she has been using a cosmetic surgeon for the past 11 years.
It had always been assumed that Miss Crawford earned her £25 million fortune from her natural looks.
However, in a magazine interview out today, the 40-year-old mother-two spoke of making regular trips for treatments ranging from Botox, to vitamin and collagen injections.
She went on to reveal that she has been getting such extra help with her looks since the age of 29.
'I'm not going to lie to myself: past a certain age, creams work on the texture of your skin but, in order to restore elasticity, all I can really count on is vitamin injections, Botox and collagen,' she tells this week's Gala magazine.
Crawford in the past has insisted that a 'miracle mixture' of ground coffee and olive oil kept her skin in its enviable condition. Yet with refreshing honesty, she admits: 'I have a very simple, healthy life, which works miracles. I drink a lot of water, watch what I eat and exercise. 'But I owe the quality of my skin to my cosmetic surgeon.'
The revelation is bound to come as something of a surprise to the hundreds of thousands of woman who have bought her beauty products over the years - making her fabulously wealthy.
Some might think that they have been rather cheated that while they were hoping that her beauty could be attributed to the products she promotes, that is not altogether the case.
Miss Crawford afterall has her own skincare range called Meaningful Beauty. Products includes facial mask, skin softening cleaners, moisturisers and neck rejuvenating creams.
She says of her products: 'I believe Meaningful Beauty is the best skin care available, and soon you will be able to discover the difference yourself. 'Improve the tone and texture of your skin. Reduce the look of lines and wrinkles. Reveal skin that is smoother, softer and more radiant. They're products that treat your skin in a meaningful way now for more beautiful, younger-looking skin tomorrow.'

Thanks for being honest Cindy! :flower:

I think it`s great when celebs admit that they had surgery. That takes lots of pressure off us normal women, so we don`t need to become desperate when we do celeb diets or their excercise routines and still don`t have their bodies.

^ That may be so, but I still think it sucks. There's still an unrealistic ideal out there for women... and now if that stuff doesn't do, great, we all feel like we need to get cosmetic surgery... because it's becoming more and more the norm these days.

What a disappointment.

Hey, at least she admitted it. It's better than having a slough of papparzzi pics of her exiting a botox clinic with a screaming headline of: CINDY'S BOTOX ADDICITION.

If I were a celeb I would just never talk because it seems as though you are judged no matter if you lie or tell the truth.

It`s the opposite for me - I felt desperate and urged to get surgery when the excercise and diets didn`t work for me but now I feel the "pressure to be perfect" is off me until I can invest as much into surgery as celebs do (which may be NEVER  )

PS: Isn`t it ironic that she made millions with fitness videos and spent that money for surgery then!

Good for her for admitting it! Anyway, to me she's not really "altering" her looks, but merely "preserving" them! I don't really count botox, vitamin injections as radical cosmetic procedures.

I agree a 110%. Its highly disappointing and also disgusts me.
Plastic surgery is a SURGERY, it shouldnt be taken so goddamn lightly.
shes basically sayin : naive you - that think theyll be pretty with just creams ans yoga. im sick of people being so obsessed with their beauty and most of all : being proud to talk about plastic surgery so openly. its disgusting whether someone admits it or not. she gets zero respect from my side.

Call me crazy, but I just don't think of Botox and vitamin injections in the same vein as cosmetic surgery. Not because it doesn't entail a surgical procedure, but because it's not actually altering your body, merely altering the condition of you skin. To me it's in the same vein as chemical peels, facials and all that other crap.

I agree that there's too much pressure put on women to look perfect at any age, in any lifestyle, but I think that if a women is getting botox simply to make herself feel a little more confident then what's the problem?

Besides, can anyone say that they're truly shocked? Cindy may have natural beauty out the a$$ but she's 40 years old and has raised 2 kids, even supermodels age.

Isn't it suicidal for someone with an anti-aging line to say something like this?

Anyway, props to her for admitting that she's had some help. She still looks damn fine and luckily has not gone under the knife to reclaim her youth and destroy her once beautiful face like Janice Dickinson.

i agree with you about the botox vs. plastic surgery thing.

it's just so disappointingn to me that this is all becoming so common...

but-
isn't this false advertising..
shouldn't there be some law against this???...
i mean...she SELLS ANTI AGING CREAMS!!!...
and she's not the only one either...

it's completely misleading to the consumer......

While I still think that it's quite honest to admit something like this....it's not a good business move at all. However, she's still Cindy Crawford, she's still beautiful and women will buy her products anyhow, even just out of curiosity

Why is it that men can get better with age, but women are always trying to look younger? It's such an awful double standard.

I wonder this all the time. Men can even get away with extra poundage more than women can. It just really makes me afraid of getting older. :(

I would hardly call Botox "Surgery"...anyway, good luck to her, I hope she keeps on looking fab!

^ It's because as men get better with age (or not, whatever the case may be) they start to notice the younger girls. This sends a message to women of the same age that to be considered attractive, they need to look younger.

It's a trade off if you think about it. Teenaged boys are attracted to older (or at least, more mature looking) girls and those that aren't try to look older.

It's ironic isn't it, that even in an industry (the beauty industry) that's geared almost exclusively towards women, men still yield so much power.
