Cindy cantilevered. Cindy inventing the thong, or making the world safe for it, or vice versa. Cindy wading away from
Herb Ritts’s camera, into a moody monochrome ocean. Cindy, famously a straight-A student in high school, bedeviled by the teleprompter on
House of Style, eyebrows unthinkably lush.
Suddenly, it’s twenty years later. You’re craving a
Pepsi, and you don’t know why. Prince wondered where she got that beauty mark. You see pictures of her from this summer, shot telephoto on a yacht with her husband, Bar Guy, and wonder how she could possibly be a mother of two. (Presley and Kaia’s mom has got it goin’ on.) You hit her official Web site, scan the “Who I Am” section. No help. You do find out that her favorite holiday is Christmas: “I know how lucky I am.” So do we.
