I agree, it is a great colour on her, but the dress itself is nothing special. I feel like I want to like her style but there's nothing really different or unique about it imo. I think she's pretty safe, i'd like to see her be a bit edgier.

^Im not sure she could pull off edgy, I think her style suits her pretty dresses in pretty colors maybe more prints.

Yes, I actually agree with you guys' points. I think maybe some bolder prints would be a bit more eye-catching, like you said Melly, but ultimately I suppose her style does suit her and work for her. It's just not my taste I guess, but each to his own

This discussion inspired me to go back and look at Claire's early style. As a teenager (1994-1997) she tried several unconventional styles:

Around 97-98 she began to settle into a simple, classic style that works best for her IMO

For me, fashion can be about taking risks and trying out different kinds of style and figuring out how to make it work. But it can also be about trying styles until you find out what works for you, what suits you and what you feel comfortable in. I think Claire's style evolution reflects her discovering what works for her.

LOVE the gray dress. That's a great silhouette for her---I think she's extremely long-waisted and the belted look helps even things. Looks great.

And I love Claire and Hugh together. They go way under the radar as a celebrity couple for whatever reason, but they always look so poised.
