I noticed, that many collections reminds me ancient Roman and Greek clothing. Examples:

Alberta Ferretti

Good eye!
I like how Lanvin does it the best, something about it reminds me of the '20s a little bit too..interestiing

Goddess draping and Greco-Roman silhouettes were everywhere this season.

It's a look that's near and dear to my heart.

ah, the grecian look, it's been around for a while but it's quite hard to wear unless you're slim!

This reminds me that i have THE most perfect white vintage goddess dress - asymmetrical shoulders, draping and beading...but it's too big :( I have never worn it, but all my friends have... I'm very popular around christmas, new years and big events

Oo I love this trend I wish I had places to go to wear dresses like this I think though due to the nature of the fabrics (eg fluid fabrics) used and then for example the one shoulder as a trend it crosses over or overlaps.

Dresses that closed the show at Gianfranco Ferre.

The empiredress was such a huge trend for a couple of seasons ago, it got enourmosly hyped for a while.
I wouldn't refer to it as a trend anymore, I think it's a classical piece.

The look is beautiful.

Those Ferre dresses are breathtaking, Carmen and Stam really present them well!

Great thread, one of my favourite trends because it is such a classic, sophisticated look. You can't go wrong with that! ^_^
