Coach 65th Anniversary (Legacy) Bags/Accessories

i don't really see a problem with a fragrance line. a lot of leathergood companies also have a fragrance line: hermes, chanel, dior to name a few.

Am I mistaken... didn't you used to go ga-ga over Coach? Maybe I'm imagining things.

I believe "the thrill is gone" (i.e., he doesn't work there anymore) ;)

Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Onto bigger and better things, I suppose!

I like the little coin purse keychain and the agenda. The wallet is nice too.

I was just checking out the camel satchel on their website and was astounded at the price they were charging. $698...it seems a bit steep for coach. For half the price, you can find a very similar bag from Banana Rep.....

I think so. I was delusional. Im rebelling against Coach partly because I dont like thier business practices. Oh and yes, the thrill isn't there anymore, I was blinded by the discount...

the ali bag is love, I love it and soo far...the only thing worth buying from Coach! I like Coach but it doesn`t mean that I will folk over $10,000 for a COACH BAG!

ahhhhhhhh...i can see it now....coach the fragrance...."wow, this smells...it smells like....dooney and bourke leather!"

I think I'm gonna get the ponytail scarf... I think what I like most about these is the lining fabric.... so yea, the scarf will suffice!

Is it just me, or will Coach never reach true luxury brand status no matter what design it comes up with... due to it's errr... moniker?

COACH.

You fly Coach. Those are the squashed up cheap seats, lol. And it rhymes with Roach!

Not a name for a luxury brand. Sorry. I don't like most of their bags anyway. But the name cracks me up.

Evokes all the WRONG things for me

My ponytail scarf is so cute... I'll wear it on my head... or tied around a bag... but i'm so angry! I went to play paintball on saturday and it was tied to my bag, and my idiot boyfriend touched something with paint on it to my bag!! Now it's at the cleaners.. where hopefully the little guy behind the counter can clean it :(

crap luna...
i hope they can get the paint out...

the sf store had the ali in leather and suede, the legacy zebra and the striped katie tote...
the tote is gorgeous in person, but i'd be afraid to get it dirty...
they also had a croc ali which was insanely beautiful...

Hehe.. Thanks Kim. Thanks for the report on what the Ali looks like... Haha.. curious as to how mucht hey were charging for the croc bag?

well, look at it this way luna, if the paint doesn't come out you can hit your BF up for a shopping trip at coach to make it up to you! :brows:

Haha... make up for not only the paint on my scarf, but the bruises on my legs (from paintball)

Coach's Ali

Well, I guess I’m REALLY late for this conversation (as usual) and I’ve been away from tFS for a while, but I just had to throw in my two cents... I have not been a fan of any Coach bag since I was fairly young and since they stopped making them in NYC ~ that is, until now. I absolutely LOVE the “Ali” in the whisky color! I love it so much I can’t stop thinking about it and will probably buy it relatively soon. It seems like the perfect size, color, texture and style to go with my casual every day clothes.

Whatever people think of the “Coach” name and the connotations with which the brand is associated in their minds, it’s hard to deny that this is a beautiful bag and I think it’s destined to become a classic that will weather well over the years. Granted, I still don’t like most of what Coach has to offer, but I do love “Ali” and the other Spring 06 Legacy Vintage bags are a step in the right direction! Honestly, if Coach as a company produces similar styles in this same vein and if they would stop making the bags in China among other things, I think people would accept them as a maker of “luxury” handbags and not just a second rate mid-range manufacturer.

Recently, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect Chloe bag, but honestly, while the Chole leather looks cool and I love the stitching, none of the styles really do it for me; none of them were “perfect” (size, strap, detailing, hardware, etc; the whole package), so I’ve been holding out. Then, about a month ago I walked by the Coach store and saw “Ali.” I’ve handled “Ali” and I’ve handled various Chloe bags almost within the same breath and honestly the texture and look of the leather is very similar, but the “Ali’s” style is much more attractive in my opinion. In fact, I’m having a hard time rationalizing spending three times as much for the “high-end” Chole label with crappy hardware that peels and styles that just don’t do it for me. (Oh, and I do own $1000+ handbags so spending money on a bag I like and I deem worthy is not an issue.)

The only thing I don’t like about “Ali” is the Coach name on the front, but that’s just because I don’t care for labels that are out there for the world to see, not because I’m embarrassed of the name “Coach.”

Anyway, that’s just my two cents (really more like five or six...). XOXOXO
