Coach Pocket Satchel

ahem.....kinda marc jacobsy......but i have to say i saw the black satin one in macys and its gorgeous, but i couldn't imagine keeping it in perfect condition, so im not sure if the materials they chose are very durable at all, besides the leather and their signature canvas.....i think @ the price point, i'd rather have MJ though......kinda exspensive for non-leather

I like the look of the Daphne more than the multipocket... I can't believe they're charging 500 for a nylon bag... dear god.

yah....thats what i was thinking. its understandable for the leather, because it is good quality.....but satin nylon???! does anyone know the limited lifespan of satin? rubs, rips, nicks, scratches, stains.........anything shows up on it even in black! ahhhh i know too well working at a fabric store......

Attn: Diorling,

Hi! As the resident Coach expert, I just wondered what you thought of the Coach Signature Mettalic Satchel with Snake in black? I REALLY liked the looks of it from Coach.Com, and went to Coach Union Square store in SF yesterday to have a look-see. The Sales Associate who helped me stated they had just shipped them off (were they part of the winter collection?) so he had none to show me. He did say it was in btwn the size of the small and large satchel (which is what I wanted) and he did say its very nice in person. But since I have never seen one in person I was wondering what your personal opion of it is. I'd like to buy it I think. I wanted a black purse that was a tad bit on the "different" side and I really love the look of the satchels. THANKS!
It's hot. I love the black better than the khaki, also the metallic snakeskin is very matte, like gunmetal. Gorgeous, you should order it. My coworker has the whole line, in both colors. She has a problem, I love the Demi too though it's miniscule. They went out of store on the 3rd, but were off the floor on the 1st.

It's mainly nylon with satin threads, it has the durability of nylon but the look and feel of satin, it's a really gorgeous material. The Hamptons Weekend line used the same material (the Summer 05, the other Weekend lines had rougher nylon).

Most of the bags in the Weekend line were in the 100-200 dollar range though which made more sense.. why 500 dollars for a fabric bag?

Thank You Diorling!

...for your response. :) I am so happy you found it "gorgeous" in person, as I really like it, want it, and have been on the fence on whether or not to order it. :) But now I think I will. I really like the pocket satchels and this one just seemed to have more pizzaz with the metallic snake feature. I'm glad to hear that the snake is more matte and "gun metally." Although I wanted an edge to the black look, I was a little worried that it was "too" metallic.

By the way, I got the catalog for the spring line when I went to the Union Square store and saw some GREAT pocket satchels coming out. They were also signature satchels but the front pocket (like the metallic snake its only the one pocket in front as opposed to two) had some purple? Fun bag, kinda reminded me of the holiday patchwork with the purple. Can't wait to see that in person!

I used to think Coach was too boring for my tastes, but lately I am LOVING them. I prefer them lately to most other designers out there! It took me forever to purchase the signature stripe tote (red) with python since they didn't ship them to CA, but I really really loved that style and now that I own it, I love it so much!

Thanks again for your advice!

I personally love the COACH multipocket bags and own the small nylon bag in white and chocolate (and I love it to death). Although I wouldnt trust myself with the suede ones. No matter, I would probably never find one anyway.

Holy! They made them in leather!? Did those ever make it to the outlets?

what would you guys recommend?

nylon or canvas?

1. nylon (black or white & brown combo - Diorling's photos)
2. canvas (see attached pics - from ebay.com)
3. and what colour?
4. which one gets dirty easily?

replies are highly appreciated as i am only dependent on the photos and i'll never see the bag until i buy it.

thanks in advance peeps! :flower:
