Comme des Garçons F/W 10.11 Paris

although i'd spit my wine out -- lest i choke -- if i saw those shoes in real life, from the ankle up, this collection has the hallmarks of the best commes des garcons collections. not only does it have something to say -- exactly what i think may stand too intellectual for even me -- but it has the power to transform anything the woman may don into a commes des garcons look. also, rei kawakubo remains one of the most clever designers in the business. anyone who has been in a cold weather clime lately knows that puffer jackets are a reality: i love that she's given many a seriously fashionable alternative. forget moncler or d & g, give me one of these jackets to toss over a turtleneck as we head up the mountain any day of the week.

not trying to convert you, just trying to recommend other sources that you might be interested in for warming up to what she does.. I just feel like her work is so.. sensible, and visionary and.. *cough* poetic, that we need to pass on the magic. *coughagain*
Yes!!! spread the good word!!!!:heart:

thanks for posting the pics!

i love the big, bulky silhouettes of the coats, the intricate tops and the shoes!
i agree, many things are classic cdg, but the bulkiness of the jackets is extremely exaggerated this time. still it looks beautiful and wearable.

I like the concept of "enlargement" in these.
It's almost like the models are growing out the clothes in a sci-fi or Wonderland type manner. Or, the clothes are enlarging themselves as the models make their way down.

This is very Comme....Rei never dissapoints..I just want to bounce around in a pillowed gown.
