Comme Des Garcons - Guerrilla Stores

i believe GS should have some 'local' indie designers to bring a more indie/local atmosphere to the shops..
but i fear this will never happen (mainly due to logistics)

^ GS +65 made a collaboration with the RAbbit project, it is a good start. I would say collaborations not only wit local but collaorations in general it's good to have some action in GS, if not it's like a proper store.

Watanabe IS another label, albeit one that comes within the CDG brand. It is quite possible (and indeed, presumably entirely correct, since it was a quote from the guy running the store) that they will not sell Junya's collections for men and/or women, and will only sell comme mainline and Shirt.

I found the article quite informative......don't see how it could make somebady angry!

You cannot say this about JW, JW is part of CdG world.

Sometimes i am bitchy with the press, bad memories...

Selling strictly Comme in GS could be a big surprise. And it does not make sense to me. I hope that it was a mistake indeed (Knowing that JW has a great following there:-P)

There no reason to make a GS in TOKYO, CdG is well established there as TOKYO is the center of CdG....

I think one reason could be that there are many Cdg followers and fans especially in Tokyo, who would probably love to be able to buy pieces from older collections for a cheaper price...

...and also they had other period stores there as well despite the fact that they were already established.

Unlimited: COMME des GARCONS

Traditional values have existed for a long time. I wasn’t aware of this myself, but I bounced whatever I found interesting and beautiful off Paris. But that was not something they wanted to recognise there. I was cumbersome to those traditionalists hoping to hold on to their values. After a while, that which was hated became recognised as being something beautiful. Many young people started working with and sharing the values I appreciate. I may have achieved something, however small. One of the aims for my work is to be influential in this way. I don’t know if I can do that though. I wish I could find even newer values. I would very much like to find them.

Hey nqth! thank you for your photos, you are a really gs freak!;)
I am curious about the new shop...!
and i am waiting for the one in Berlin too!
dou you know when will they open?

great photos! It seems to me that the polka dot shirts are customized in limited numbders for the +852 GS. The blogger operates the GS. She was saying in her entry that she was initially worried about how the polka dots would be turn out on menswear, but is later relieved to see that the results turned out quite well.

Can't wait to see the store when I go to HK in June!

You are welcome, dets_b:-)

I have heard that Berlin is the end of May, after Glasgow, and a "surprise city" in Europe:-)

Great congrat for (a very busy) Guerrilla team:-)

"surprise city" .. sounds intriguing! :woot:

Please let it be Copenhagen *crossing my fingers* :innocent:
