The OTT-bedazzled styling of the cover shot shouldn't work, but it does-- stunningly: It's simple and excessive. I like it a lot.
The contents however, are another matter. I agree with those that sense an amateur vibe. There's a lack of harmony, coherence. The outstanding edits are Bruce and Tom's. The others are very student-project looking to me. I'm glad she's giving new photographers a chance, but most of these guys need more experience. Even the Mondino edit looks frighteningly plain. As it stands now, the magazine/ fashion book looks like a very wealthy patron and her famous friends having a bit of fun with their interns. And the graphic design is really atrocious.
And if they want to push Kim on me, that's fine. But they're not winning me over with their image of her. Try harder, Carine.
