Length of my gauchos? (pics)

I am a real TFS fashion victim thanks to the Culottes thread!

I need your opinions please! Should my gauchos be shorter like an inch or two? I'm open to any suggestions until Monday because that's when the gauchos will be finally sewn together. All the jersey gauchos on Ebay seemed to be a little shorter or maybe they only looked different because the models might have been shorter? I'm 175cm tall (5'9).

(the pink ones in the background are her gauchos, she totally gets inspired by me all the time )

:flower:

^^^ i would help but dont have a clue what dyes are sold in america:unsure:

i made some shorts yesterday snip and ta da! how i love easy customisations!

thats a beautiful orange san diego, and i dont usually like orange. the best thing you could do is go to your local habedashery and ask one of the assistants, they'll know which dyes are most suited to which fabrics etc :flower:

i dont think there is a actual length that gauchos are supposed to be...

i have seen shorter ones (by lamb) and ones that are the same as yours (by dior)

i think they look very nice like that:flower:

Ive never had ne problems with dylon dye but dont think you can get that in usa. Try googling for dye.

wow, i caught up with this thread late... :)

i got this amazing kelly green sweatshirt at h&m in berlin and it's my favorite
but on a plane my ink pen exploded, and i got a small black dot right in the middle!
i was wearing a pin but i decided i wanted something more unique
so i embroidered this bird on the other day.

the black ink dot is the eye.

i call it dragonbird because when i zip up the hood all the way
it kind of looks like a weird dragon

sorry my photoshop color correcting skills apparently suck!

aww, that is so cute! and a very clever way of disguising. well done, francesca. ^_^

thanks so much guys!
i was totally winging it, because i'd never really embroidered before...
i'm just glad the pen didn't explode all over!

:)

omg francesca thats the cutest little thing!! I want to jump in the picture and just squeeze it's little bod

thanks so much everyone! i'm pleasantly surprised by how well it came out, haha!

i have started doing embroidery on scarfs and other shirts, so i'll post when i have some done.

:)

adorable francesca...well done...
crazy K...i personally think that culottes are most flattering when they come about and inch or two below the knee...but it depends on what shoe you wear....

it's all about proportion...it's like geometry...matching shapes and sizes...
so the width of the culotte, the length of the culotte, your height and the size, shape and height of the heel all need to work together...;)

i think the length you have is good...but i would never wear those with heels...
only flats or boots...with a pant leg that wide...a high heel is too small and off-balance...imo...well..actually, it's not my opinion...it's kind of a styling rule...^_^

wow, thanks so much!
this certainly is inspiring me to start embroidering more things!

i started re-working a vintage 'poet's' shirt last night..i removed all the buttons and button hooks...cut off some little bows on the sleeves...removed some innerfacing so it isn't so stiff...and cut off about 1/2 the collar...i think i may put a drawstring around the bottom so it blousons...

i'll post a pic when i'm done...
wish i had taken a pic before i started working on it...:(

ooh the before and after pictures are always so exciting!
that shirt sounds amazing, softgrey..i can't wait to see it!

.franceska, the bird is adorable!

a friend gave me those disels which don't fit him, but they were way too big,
so i distroyed the poor pants this way:

+fake watch bought on the street got black sticker on it to hide the "name of the designer":)

i dyed a bunch of shirts today...

with mixed results...:ermm:...
