Customize your Jeans - distressing etc

thanks

thanks for the tips. i am going for the distressing effect on the jeans of the second guy from the right in this recent dolce and gabanna ad.

is there a special technique to make the big holes? should i cut the jeans open and then distress around the tears? or just use an abrasive surface (cheese grater, sandpaper, razor, pumice etc) until the hole is big enough?

New JEANS Old

Hey guys, this old look jeans trend is mindblowing
And its rockin more and more day by day
I first thought it was a passing fad but ever since I started wearin these old rugged jeans, I cant think of wearin clean net tidy pressed jeans any more

they gotta be rugged, sexy, frayed and rockin

here are some household tips to create these effects on your old neat looking jeans without wash effects

1. use a nail cutter to pinch of small portions of fabric from between the double needle stitches of your jeans, speciall frt and back pocket and bottom hem, scrub the pinched portions using a 100 grit sand paper and then wash standard
wallah! u get what u want

2. for staining jeans prepare a paste of turmeric powder and used tea leaves, put it in a wet soft cotton white cloth, fold it and use it like a pen to stain parts and portions of your jeans, this look particularly looks good on bleached jeans

3. for retaining the colour of your jeans, soak overnight in concentrated salt water and then wash inside out

tell me if anythin works for you or if you wanna know somethin more bout washing jeans

check out this diesel stuff...freaky

Making the Distressed/Destroyed Jean Look

Sorry if this is in the wrong part of forum but, I was wondering how to make the distressed/destroyed jean look. I'm sick of buying Abercrombie or Hollister jeans that everybody already has and I would like to be more original and I might even put some patches on them or something. So if someone could help me that would be great!

xoxo Lisa!

Creating vintage jeans

I have been looking around for vintage style jeans but i cant really find any that i like so i decided i want to create my own. Ive not done it before and am not really sure how to make good looking rips and worn effects. What im looking to find out is: what looks good, what tools to use to create rips, where rips and different effects look best placed on the jeans and how to make different effects.

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong section but i wasnt sure where else to post it.

Thanks, any comments appreciated,

Tommy

have you checked out diesel denim gallery? there jeans are cut from old patterns and have wearings on them on stuff.

when i used to customise jeans i allways used a knife and scratched it side to side where i wanted the wearing it would wear away the weft of the fabric (the blue bit on the jeans) and leave the warp white. i also used to wear knee pads under the jeans and slide arround on my knees on the pavement

though imo i feel distressed jeans are very dated now everyones wearing them stick to the simpler styles

Back in high school, I cut a few holes in my jeans - one on the knee, and a few further up... I dug the look. Rock-star-ish.
