People need to get their panties out of a twitch. She doesn't look like Lara Stone in this? Not even in general. Apart from the lips and the blonde hair, there isn't much in common for these two. Just that they're both awesome. It's getting old aswell as the discussion she might be too young.
Ah, how nice of you to already state that I can also say whatever I want.Oh come on, it's about the image on the cover that they're look like each other.
I don't think you can say that, everyone has it's own opinion about Daphne, the cover, likes/dislikes, if she looks like Lara or not, ageproblems. To discuss that is also what fashionspot is for. Not everyone have to agree with each other, i don't think that would be reality. There come also new members who also have something to say etc.
You can easily stay out of this discussion if you think it's getting old, but you put yourself into it
That said, WilhelmE, i would love to talk about something else then only the cover or wishfull campaign thinking, but there isn't much at the moment right? I only know she was shooting something (don't know where) and just came back tuesdayevening. Also I agree with your comment to celebrate the cover.
Once the eyebrow bleach came out, the Larafication began, or at least they tried to shape Daphne into a Mert & Marcus automaton for whom Lara is the standardbearer. Having said that, there is a lot of excitement swirling around Daphne, and yes some of it is Lara 2.0ish, but I doubt if Daphne would have gotten the kinds of bookings that she has gotten and hobnobbed with the types of people that she has hobnobbed with if all she brought to the table was her resemblance to Mrs. Walliams. Given her age and that she is still fairly new, we don't know if Daphne is actually going to achieve top model status, but Lara-Daphne may be Gemma-Sasha 2.0.
What's exactly going fast for her? The fact that she's been lately used only for top clients?... For me that's the reason why people get so biased with Daphne. We're talking about an image business regarding your mental condition - no pun intended! - and rare discoveries such as Daphne can easily be forgotten if they are not backed up by the strong tastemakers who can fully take far a model's potential. I'm talking about an intelligent use of a model's image, not exploitative and disposable, which is so common right now. She's evidently talented in front of the camera and on a runway - a true gem -, but mentally she doesn't seem like she's ready for something like this while it's going so fast for her.
After watching the videos with Daphne I understand what upsets people about seeing this young wide-eyed girl playing with a serious modeling career at the age of 15. Daphne comes off so young and unaware in this crazy fashion world.
..
Regarding Hailey Clauson, she comes across more mature and self-assured in expressing herself so for us outside viewers there is less reason to "worry". She seems able to handle herself quite well. It's a different place to be in mentally and emotionally.
Just my 2 cents.![]()
