I completely agree that Gemma was one of a kind, but it's too early in Daphne's career and life to cross her out from having commercial appeal. Rianne ten Haken possesses Daphne's features as has had commercial success, so who knows what this beautiful girl will mature into. I'm just happy for her success and exposure thus far.

^^ Yes models do. Once I said something that was found personal information (I didn't mean no harm, it was alsno not that exciting IMO) and get a warning and the question from Bloom and indirect from Daphne via Bloom via FS not to do that anymore. Which i completely understand.
Also lot of models find in FS their photos.
I mean it takes maybe 10 minutes to read the last pages and save some of their photos.

I just don't see Daphne doing commercial. Her look is not very.. "pretty" enough to do commercial. And I don't see Frida as the weakest. The reason I state that she will outlast them is only because every season I see her doing better and better and I feel like she has the best management. Each runway season, she opened more and better shows. Whiles't Monika opened many many shows, then only a few, and Daphne walked the major shows, but didn't open any.. Where as so did Monika and Frida. And Frida is starting to become a favorite for many people in the industry in my opinion as well..

I think Kallu said it right. I also think Daphne is ugly, but also unique which I admire and interesting in a way that makes me keep going to her thread. I can see the comparison with Rianne. Also a lot of people didn't get her look and found her ugly. Now Rianne is beautiful IMO, the thing is dat Rianne at the age of 16 never look like a 10 years old and Daphne does. But both look from out of space, so I think that in a few years when Daphne is more developed she could also be that out of space haunting beauty. But I agree I can't see Daphne commercial.

Damn right. They are aware of what we are commenting. I'm not saying this should be her fan club thread (it is on its route to become one ) but people should think twice when comments like this are just thrown away. If you are not going to give a constructive comment - key word here: constructive - then why bother? Just go on.

My believe that the success she is having is because of her management. They have been very picky with her bookings and these are the results. This is the way you survive now. Don't get why names like Frida or Jac are being thrown here though

I wrote a post earlier but deleted it since i thought I would get responded with a vile personal message by a frequent poster in this thread. Please guys if you dont like her, express your opinion and move on..Anything constructive is welcome but dont stir the same pot over and over and over again.

I for one think she's beautiful, she deserves everything thats coming to her but disagree that her management is her only key to success. She is a concentrate of what is considered 'in' by some particular opinion leaders in fashion. She had the luck of being at the right moment in front of the right people who launched her. From there on it has been her own talent for modelling ( nobody can deny she holds her own in between the big guns, VP anyone?) and her managements strategic choices that have launched her to the position where she is now.

I also think its naieve to say she doesnt have commercial appeal. It's ******** to consider the mainstream 'commercial' market as a rigid moloch. Mainstream will eventually follow opinion leaders, early adopters and the early majority. Society changes and so do tastes. What the average Joe considers pretty has been and will always be a stereotype but what appeals to a larger always changing fashion market will constantly evolve and change until we start the same cycle over. Lara, Rianne there are so many more that were initially considered weird. More exposure leads to more appeal.

On top of that, next to an immense talent this girl possesses, I really think she will grow more into her looks and become more 'acceptable' beautiful. For all you non believers out there.
