wwdDaria Werbowy Links Up With AG
By ROSEMARY FEITELBERG
FOUR MORE YEARS: With her modeling commitments, a home in Ireland and a thirst for adventure travel, Daria Werbowy is never in one city for too long. But AG has lined her up for the brand’s next four ad campaigns. Their first collaboration will appear in August issues of Vogue, Elle, Details and Harper’s Bazaar, among others. Outdoor ads will go up in New York and Los Angeles.
Josh Olins recently shot the fall campaign in a beachfront home in Montauk, N.Y., on a particularly stormy day. Sam Ku, creative director of the Los Angeles-based brand, said, “Four of us flew to New York for the shoot. We left behind the 85-degree, sunny weather, and it was 44 degrees and rainy in Montauk. Everyone was wearing these enormous ponchos.”
Werbowy was layered up in an assortment of AG-ed denim washes, washed silk tops and coated jackets. Even after a long day of weathering the elements, she, Josh Olins, stylist Alastair McKimm and the rest of the crew dined and drank until the wee hours.
But it was back to business the next day for Ku, who noted AG is considering opening a store in Las Vegas by the end of the year. Founded in fall 2001, the estimated $200 million brand currently has nine boutiques and two outlet stores in the U.S., as well as a freestanding store in Tokyo.
