She didnt, the head of LVMH said she was too American for LV, they replaced her with many models including Daria and Naomi Campbell.

"Too American"... Ok, I won't even comment.

Daria and the gang are more than suitable replacements.

@eword: perhaps the 'appeal to mtv audience' was just a generalization of the 'young, cool crowd'. And Daria is all that and then some...

Wow, love those W Jewellery pictures.... I miss those days of hers, when her hair used to be a vibrant shade of brunette, and she had a centre parted graduated fringe, which swooped over her eyes sexily, and she seemed to have more vitality.... *sigh* the good times....

I agree. I miss her darker hair and the edgier appeal.

I will never forget being in Milano and picking up Vogue Italia (the issue where she has big the lion's mane hair) a few years ago. Upon seeing that cover, I knew...I knew...I KNEW she was destined for big things.B)

It is weird, Lancome trying to appeal to the MTV crowd via Daria, dosent click. If they were looking for someone to appeal to them, might as well get Hilary Duff. But then again, who the hell wants Hilary Duff?

i'll explain myself better. that was not an official declaration, it was just a comment i found in some blog. and of course the blogger thought that daria wasn't particularly suitable for an mtv audience, that's it.
so, what i'd like to understand is if there's just lancome behind her going to tv shows and stuff, or it's just the fact that she's canadian, so they invite her. and i'd like to be able to evaluate the 'size' of the thing. cos going to 4-5 shows during lancome attack to market is one thing, going 'always' is another.

Ahh, understood. Its more or less just Canadian media more than anything else, we dont have as much to report on so having the worlds top model of the moment is something to gloat with...

Shes hardly on the shows though, except for one time I remember, but it was due to them doing a special on NYFW. Other than that they only "feautured" her because shes always in Canadian fashion magazines, Always a profile, or a cover.

Havent heard anything more about her within Canadian media since though.
