personally i can see more resemblance with jane birkin than with romy schneider, especially when they are in motion.
maybe romi's eyes and jane's mouth... a mix! but again i think that if you see romy schneider moving -and there're videos at youtube - resemblance gets lower.
btw, jane and romi were acting together in 'swimming pool', funny!

There is definitely a physical resemblance, but I think there is a fragility and, perhaps, sadness in Jane’s eyes that Daria doesn’t possess.

I have to desagree with you eword & Philippine. Daria reminds me more of Romy (in the 70's) than Jane Birkin, in pictures. In motion... Nobody looks as Daria (ha ha ha!!!). Jessica Miller looks more as Jane Birkin than Daria. Daria and Jess Miller look a little bit alike in some pictures.

Daria is an amazing mix, but she's unique. to me, she looks a little as Jane B, there is something. meanwhile i've never though about Romy for D...interesting idea

It's Romy's eyes that makes Daria looking so much as her. Daria's face is more long (as Jane) than Romy's (the face shape of Romy is round... not as Daria).

well, that pic has a looooooooooong story.... it was first posted by emilia last year and then linked again a few pages ago.... but it's always a pleisure to see it, especially because their friendiship seems authentic, not just a matter of runway backstage for photographers.
