Another year, another ranking of top-earning models. In 2007 Daria came in 9th in Forbes' list, this year, Models.com ranked her 6th.

It's a bit of a shocker yes, but cross referencing the background information on Daria Werbowy unveiled the fact that she is a super-earner in the industry. Apparently there was another client bidding for her exclusive services back when Lancome was intent on having her. The result? Daria scored a stunning cosmetics contract and leapt effortlessly into the financial VIP club.

she's certainly a super-earner, but i think forbes is much more reliable than models.com., whose charts and lists seem to be rather random. same opinion by posters in the specif thread about it.

When it comes to money-related subjects I would find a financial magazine website more reliable too, especially if the writing is clearer. The weird commentary on Daria barely made sense. Whoever wrote it makes it sound like Models.com is breaking the Watergate scandal of the modeling world, that after much "cross referencing" Daria's "background information", they have made the shocking discovery that a beautiful model is earning lots of money and was sought by MORE THAN ONE company.

The surprises: Where is Raquel, Sasha, Caroline and Agyness? They all are in heavy rotation in every major fashion glossy and they each score multiple campaigns every season. In fact, Sasha has been Madame Prada’s homegirl for almost three years now and Unkle Karl has kept Raquel employed at Fendi for quite a while as well.
It’s worth noting that everybody in the top five has had a contract with Victoria’s Secret at one point in their career, except for Kate Moss — who actually tops this list.
In short: There are quite a few hypebeasts out there. It doesn’t matter how many times a model may appear on the cover of French and Italia Vogue because if her look can’t sell perfume, makeup or jewelry then you she isn’t going to be making too much money in this very competitive business. Also, it pays a lot to wear the wings. If you could befriend Ralph Lauren along the way, that would be great too.

BB: In the film, Karl refers to models, I believe, as “five brats.” But he really seems to care for Daria and Brad Kroenig. How does he treat his models?

RM: He loves Daria and Brad. When he said that, he was preparing for the biggest fashion show in the world. Ever. There were 120 models, and nobody has that. Each model walked down the runway once.
