Does anyone have the new Chanel ad's with her in it? I love her in Chanel. Have you seen how Karl has made her into like his muse? He has finally left the white backgrounds for the fashion ads and has Daria in the streets which I love! I love Daria! All hail Daria!

Daria lacks Gisele's "sexuality and sensuality". I don't think that Daria will made it outside fashion's orbits. I saw her Hypnose ad on TV and she looks dead or something, very blank. Gisele has the moves and the killer stares, just don't let her talk.

i more or less agree (apart from the 'dead' part) and i have my theories on what she lacks. maybe that's why i like her so much and maybe it's also why they have to retouch her so heavily in the lancome ads.
also, if you look at the V editorial, you'll see there's no erotism at all. there's a lot of irony instead. and that's her speciality while she fails when she tries to be directly-explicitely sexually appealing. it's the only lack in her being so versatile.

If you're saying that Daria doesn't have what it takes to do Victoria's Secret like Gisele does, I agree and say thank god. Yeah, VS pays the big bucks and generates some level of commercial recognition, but I think VS sucks the life out of any model. I think Daria is alluring in a much more subtle but much more powerful way than Gisele.

And with the Lancome ads...all beauty ads are heavily retouched!!! That's the nature of beauty ads!! Look at Erin Wasson for Maybelline or Tiiu for Cover Girl or any other model for any other cosmetic campaign. The goal is to make them seem flawlessly perfect. Obviously we're not used to seeing Daria look like that; we're used to a much more raw version of her. But I still think they're drop-dead gorgeous.

about the lancome ads, yeah, it's true that all the cosmetics ads are retouched, but lancome seems to be more than average! in some pics you can hardly recognise it's her.

about the lancome ad of daria... i guess the reason u think it's retouched extremely heavy only because we're used to see the flaw/raw side of her and she always appear as herself with 'weird nose/ a nose with nosejob', 'too high cheekbones', 'not sexy at all' those kinda comments (i disagree ALL! )
but still, i'm still attracted by her eyes and her 'curve-up-corners' smile in this juicy collection lancome ad (guess they wont retouch her smile =.=""), she's still as beautiful as always

i kinda thank god that she's not that kinda VS show girl(though i do like Fernanda T. a lot). her attractiveness doesnt come with sex-appeal but inside her and i love her for that.

I disagree that she lacks sexuality and sensuality. Using the example of the V editorial, in it, her big hair looks wild and alluring, her high cheekbones scream sex, her pout is sensual and her eyes just draw you in. I thought she looked extremely attractive in that ed, one of the best she's done in a long time. Maybe it's because I'm biased, but I never saw the appeal in Gisele. Her face is long and her nose is bumpy. Man, that girl looks like a horse. My two cent's worth.

Daria does really lack sexuality. Her face is just vacant and hallow, like Kate Moss in the 90's, I like daria because she just exudes coolness and carefree spirit, and a great grunge model, but I want raw sexuality, ala Laetitia Casta. Laetitia can just sit there and look at the camera and pout and Bam! you can feel that sensual energy from her.......Gisele's Horsey face can semetimes be really sexy in certain angle, it's her sleepy eyes I guess, or the way she angles her face for the camera, Horse/man-face is really skilled!!! She's the best in the business........

so when she does editorias where she tries to be sexually explicit, she simply can't do it and she ends up with her stare that's cooler, in any meaning of this word. please consider that i'm saying that in a positive way.

so, the V latest editorial. with gisele or that model from holland, doutzen?, it would have been full of a sexual vibe. with daria it's a cool-ironic editorial - AND I LIKE IT. even the pic with the naked guy, nothing sexual, they just stand one close to the other. like 'ops, what are you doing here?'.

but this is why i like daria. i couldn't like a raw model!

I agree with you. I am a heterosexual female, yet I find Daria attractive, whereas I think Doutzen Kroes and Laetitia Casta are obviously beautiful, but not attractive to me. To me Daria has more allure than any other model I've ever seen, but it's an inner thing that comes out; a sly and almost secretive thing, like she knows something amazing and is daring me to come find out what it is.

OK...is anyone on this thread going to discuss why Daria looked absolutely bedraggled the last couple days she walked, and then cut out of the last 2??? I wouldn't be suprised if she had gotten sick again. After not doing a full season for a year and a half, her system probably wasn't used to it.

And IMG probably ok'd it so Gemma could make up some lost ground. The last 2 days of Paris were definitely Gemma's best in all of fashion week.

but i wouldn't say "I am a heterosexual female, yet I find Daria attractive". i'd say "I am a heterosexual female, so I find Daria attractive".
there's something very charming about her playing with genders. i'll devote one of my next post in the blog to that (if someone may be interested! )
