The model that rocked the most at the last edition of SPFW wasn't brazilian and didn't even step on a catwalk. With her sparky, feline blue eyes, canadian Daria Werbowy landed on the fashion week to promote a new line of make up, Luna Chic, from Lancôme. The topmodel, who has had her face in big labels like Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel and Prada, watched the Raia de Goeye show and partied a little. Last thursday she was honored with a party at Luis Gelpi's house. Around 300 guests were toasted with lots of champagne and could check out Daria's impressive beauty. Next, some bits of our exclusive interview with Werbowy.
What are you thinking of Brazil?
This is the first time I come here, and surely won't be the last. Before I came to São Paulo I spent two days in Rio and thought everything was beautiful.
Did you know anything about brazilian fashion before you came to the Raia de Goeye show?
Yes. I knew the designers did a beautiful fashion here. I love the Raia de Goeye clothes. Especially the pants - they have a cut I've never seen!
Which designers are you a fan of?
I love Marc Jacobs, Chloé and Chanel. The cool thing is that I've been given the pleasure to walk those shows.
How would you define your style?
I like so many different things... Sometimes I wear only one piece that brings attention, a shiny piece. In other moments I just wear a leather jacket [I'm assuming it's her Miu Miu] and I'm ready.
You always appear backstage listening to music. What's on your iPod?
I like rock basically, like Pink Floyd and Janis Joplin.
How is it to be Lancôme's face?
It's an honor. I have learnt a lot, and I travel to so many places - Japan, China, Mexico, Spain, Russia and, now, Brazil.
When are you leaving?
From São Paulo I'll go to Rio, where I'll stay two days and visit a social project sponsored by Lancôme.
