Dario Vitale - Designer, Creative Director of Versace

It's not bad, but it's not Versace. Or at least the Versace I have in mind. Overall, I am very sad at the constant neutering and watering down of potent brands to sell merchandise. I know it's a business, but I don't think this type of image or creative director is what will get not only the passive customer, but also the would-be loyal customers into the shops. Hopefully, this is just a "Litmus Test" to gauge the reaction and then they'll pivot accordingly.

TL;DR not feeling it.

First image of the new direction, don't know if it's already by Dario, but the fact that they erased their instagram before posting the campaign makes me think it's by him. Definitely a change, it's not styled by Jacob K...
It's crazy the difference with the picture that comes immediately before this of Claudia...

Is that a prison uniform for a TV show ?

All distinction of what makes Versace - Versace gone from this ad.
Though the collection, styling direction has not been clear in the last 3 years either..

I hope Prada looks after it in the long run, Versace is so specific I feel you must be patient with it (something Bertelli doesn't have, but at least Miuccia and Donatella are friends). It's such a style that is not in trend this last decade and a half, and yet it is too trendy/distinctive to be timeless to rely on brand status or their leathergoods.

If they're going for that kind of stylist they should've got Ursina Gysi instead. Y-Project was its hottest with her before they switched to Robbie Spencer and she brought the hype again when Glen brought her back for Diesel.

I really don't need to see a Kraftwerk reference at Versace

I'm expecting a Versace pre-90's, pre-top-models, pre-baroque... something more toned down...Gianni has done a loooot of things, but people identify him just with the 90's. Looking at campaigns like these, make me think that there's an entire world that could be explored... hope to not being totally disappointed...

The lookbooks from those prefall collections looks more versace than this...This is Versace for the woke generation...i can agree a turnover but without forgetting who the brand is...they just deleted all Versace was to deliver this water down version with a sad pov...

This is Jaguar rebrand levels of tragic.

When will they learn that not every brand needs to look this way? Asexual, depressing, gloomy?

People want Versace plus something new, not Versace replaced with whatever mess this is.

I will rather have the neo preppy that JW is doing at Dior.

Both their internal art director and their chief communications officer are from Bottega Veneta's Daniel Lee era (they started under Donatella's tenure hence the slight twist we've seen in recent times) so I'll give Dario the benefit of the doubt but that is not starting in a very cheerful way. There's so much fun and glam elements that are part of the Versace DNA, please don't turn it into yet another depressed bourgeoise.

If you are gonna do this then do nothing.

Just skip the campaign till the new collection is out. What’s the need for this?

Terrible so far.

It’s like people these days don’t want to put any effort or imagination. What a lack of everything 💀
