It looks wicked! :D Would like to know who shot and styled this... Is it all Russian production?

I love the image they used for the cover, but the cover itself needs a little polishing. Right now it's a big fan-made looking. And what's with that index on the cover too? LOL, anyway, I'm really interested.

Wow  I didn't even know about D&C Russia! Exited! Just hope it wouldn't end up like Citizen K which I can't find in ANY bookshops in my city for some monts!

^it's their issue 0 ... so i guess it's not out ?! is it just a prototype ?!

because i like it ... well pretty russian (sasha, the cat, the look, the ice feeling ...) ... and love the idea of the summary on the cover !!! pretty forward ...

any russian knows more about this ?!

there's a whole itw and article there :

Well, it's really number 0, just a prototype. There are just 1000 examples. The first issue will be out in April or September - depends on Financial crisis.

1000 copies ?! oops not easy to get one, then ...
anyone who put an hand on this must scan ... i wanna see what's inside ...

it says the magazine will come out ether in february or september.
jefferson hack was involved a lot in creating the pilot issue, he flew to moscow regularly to help out with it.
in the picture with geri halliwell is the russian billionere thet bought 5% of the magazine and made it possible for it to lounch in russia.
basically thst article is a review of the issue, apparantly it needs work.

so excited! sasha doesnt look that good but im happy for her nonetheless! im definitely curious about this! :woot:

actually i've posted about it in the Business of Magazines thread.
The first news on the launch of D&C Russia appeared when Alexander Lebedev, the Russian oligarch, bought D&C license, reportedly for his London-based son, Evgeniy.
In spring it became clear that the team behind Russian edition will be the one that worked on the online-publication LAM Magazine [much acclaimed by Dazed&Confused and Jefferson Hack – jk]. Hack personally came to Moscow to overview the work on the zero issue. Almost all summer long the crowd discussed how the publication would look like and who was going to score editor-in-chief position. The issue had to be out in fall. But then the crisis came.
The zero issue still made it in print by the circulation of 1000. Yet it’s not clear whether this issue has any sense, because the actual launch is postponed for uncertain term and it may be that the features from this issue won’t go public anyway.
As Alexander lebedev mentioned in his phone interview the magazine was to launch in February or September 2009. He did not deny his son could get the editor-in-chief’s position (contrary to the constant rumors Roman Mazurenko, the man behind LAM was going to become EIC of D&C Russia). Lebedev also confirmed Jefferson Hack and Derk Sauer of Independent Media constantly overviewed Russian launch.

to be honest i don't really get the idea of this thread, because this issue won't appear on sale and there's really small luck we would get anything more than that. the source (lookatme.ru) is the one behind the LAM magazine so this was kind of official review of this D&C issue.
from what i've learnt so far is that there are some undercover games there about who's going to be in the team and about the future of the magazine at a whole.
as someone mentioned, there IS a chance it will go the same way Citizen K went in Russia (not a great publication with some BIG egos behind it). who knows...

^I have one question about this part ....

the launch of D&C Russia appeared when Alexander Lebedev, the Russian oligarch, bought D&C license, reportedly for his London-based son, Evgeniy.
I'm not in economy at all ... so my question would sound stupid to some (most ?) of you ... but does it mean D&C belongs to that russian man, now ?
or he just owns the D&C RUSSIA ?
... ie what's a licence ? it's like in the textile industry ?

to be honest i don't really get the idea of this thread, because this issue won't appear on sale and there's really small luck we would get anything more than that.
I think people tend to post everything about fashion magazines when they have the opportunity to share ... even the prototype issues ...
moreover here it's D&C + Sasha on a cover ... so you can imagine that makes talk ...

anyway thanks j'adore for your views about this new magazine ...

i think i can understand what's going on ....
