Am I the only one that tends to skip songs where Martin Gore sings?

*prepares to receive severe stoning*

I seriously missed that part of your post:doh:  Ummm...brain overload I suppose.

But yeah,Vince was great....I love alot of the old Yazoo stuff too. Alison Moyet's beautiful voice in addition....was an interesting dynamic.

oh yeah...how could i forget martin gore?...
he is so talented...imo...:woot:

I remember when I found out that David Gahan doesn't write the lyrics... was kinda bummed... lost something when I heard him sing. :(

Off the top of your head(s), what are some of the songs that Gore sings in?

^ yup, Martin Gore is the writer or at least wrote most of the songs. FYI: he sang in the nude when he recorded "Blasphemous Rumor" B)

^ oops! I think it was "Somebody" is when Martin Gore recorded in the nude. ^_^

Hmm, he sings on A Question Of Lust. I think what I don't like is that his voice is not as deep as Gahan's...

^ Gahan's voice pulls off the lyrics more effectively... it takes a certain deep voice to sing their type of music...

He also sings on "Somebody" which is such a beautiful song.

I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts
Know my intimate details
Someone who’ll stand by my side
And give me support
And in return
She’ll get my support
She will listen to me
When I want to speak
About the world we live in
And life in general
Though my views may be wrong
They may even be perverted
She’ll hear me out
And won’t easily be converted
To my way of thinking
In fact she’ll often disagree
But at the end of it all
She will understand me
Aaaahhhhh....

I want somebody who cares
For me passionately
With every thought and
With every breath
Someone who’ll help me see things
In a different light
All the things I detest
I will almost like
I don’t want to be tied
To anyone’s strings
I’m carefully trying to steer clear of
Those things
But when I’m asleep
I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me
And kiss me tenderly
Though things like this
Make me sick
In a case like this
I’ll get away with it

2nd the club thing. I blame mass media.

Have you heard the Marylin Manson version of Personal Jesus? It will knock your socks off.

"somebody" was my wedding song...

martin also sings:
"home" (ultra)
"breathe" (exciter)
"one caress" (songs of faith and devotion)
"the things you said" (music for the masses)
"it doesn't matter two" (black celebration)

i've seen depeche mode numerous times live, and they are amazing...have to agree with softie, dave gahan has such a presence...going to see them on the 18th in san jose...

construction time again is one of my favorite albums, along with black celebration...

and if you're a fan of remixes, i've got their remix compilation which is fabulous...features remixes by goldfrapp, danny tenaglia, kruder & dorfmeister and dj shadow...
