DESIGNERS AGAINST AIDS
spacer.gif
THERE's no better way to get people to join your cause than giving them something cool to wear by way of persuasion – which is something the Beauty Without Irony Foundation's Ninette Murk knows better than anyone. Having persuaded all her favourite designers to join in her Designers do Denim project in 2001, she has now persuaded Bernhard Willhelm and Marina Yee, once a member of the Antwerp Six, to help design a T-shirt and jersey-based fashion line to reawaken HIV and Aids awareness. The Scissor Sisters, photographer Kimiko Yoshida, The Cardigans, Robert Smith of The Cure and Roisin Murphy have also worked on the Designers Against Aids line, which will be available in trendy boutiques and music shops all over the world later in the summer. great project, BWI is so great to, I really admire what she does....

Yeah, and the MMM t's have been around for ages;changing every season.

I'm happy to see this. Ninette has such a passion for fashion/AIDS charity-like her Designers Do Denim project-it's really wonderful to see people(read:fashion people) who aren't so full of themselves to actually do something genuine and thoughtful. I think if most would take just a moment off what celeb their dressing and how huge their ego's are...this industry could really do something in the way finance for AIDS reasearch etc.

Definitely excellent project, thanks for bring this up! :flower:

Hmmm, surprised Bono hasn't gotten involved.

Well, it's nice to know several different designers are involved in this sort of thing :flower: Thx.

no problem posting everyone  How successful do you think this campaign will be, do you think it will be as big as the Winona tees, or the livestrong bands?

sounds like a good idea :flower:  I think this is such a worth while cause, its sad that in the 21st century aids is still a bit of taboo subject that people dont know much about so awareness has got to be good
