H&M Launches “Fashion Against Aids”

I'm a little unsure as to whether this will make much of a difference, however it is all going to a good cause, and I hope very much that people do take it seriously. I guess it could work - you never know!
I like the Rufus Wainwright one. Very nice...

House of Holland rip-offs???? House of Holland is a big rip-off of Katharine Hamnett's logo T-shirts that were first designed in the '80's.

I heard only a small portion goes to AIDS. The rest goes to the designers/celebrities :innocent:

Rihanna will be visiting the H&M at 640 5th Avenue in NY on January 31st to support Fashion Against AIDS by presenting her t-shirt design and signing autographs for a limited time. The collection features t-shirts and hoodies designed by Rihanna, Timbaland and other well-known designers, musicians and artists and will be available in select H&M stores beginning January 31st.

“Supporting YouthAIDS through the Fashion Against AIDS campaign was a great way to encourage my fans to join me in the fight against HIV/AIDS. I love that H&M is providing a fashionable and easy way for young people all over the world to get involved in this worthy cause,” says Rihanna.

Some of the shirt is already out in denmark and also sweden.
I've bought on of the t-shirts :]

paperbag-

and h&m doesn't keep one cent of the profits, all the net proceeds go to future aids awareness/prevention programs geared towards young people.

freefashion is the project organiser and those are her words...H&M is merely bringing her idea to the fore...

The celebrities work free of charge and H&M donates all the net proceeds of the sales to future AIDS awareness projects through DAA and YouthAIDS. Also, the t-shirts are very cheap (while looking great and beging made of organic cotton)-plus of course the accompanying campaign is supposed to raise new AIDS awareness in itself already- it's a great opportuniy to reach millions of people. of course most will just buy them becasue they like them and there's nothing wrong with that. But I'm sure it'll make one or two people 'Stop and Think'- we wouldn't be making all this fuss if it wasn't needed!

Freefashion, you mention all the net proceeds go to projects but the article states:
The artists participate free of charge and 25 per cent of the proceeds from the collection will go to HIV/AIDS-prevention projects around the world. Is that the same amount?

In any case, it's a very noble cause. The only way to eradicate this disease is through research but awareness is just as important especially amongst the very young.

it's not 25% of the net proceeds, it's 25% of the total sales value. and since the prices of the tees are being kept very low to make them affordable to everyone, this corresponds more or less to the net proceeds.

I would def buy one but our H&M never seems to have any of this kind of stuff. If they do I will though. I bought some from the Gap RED collection... Inspi(red) tee, Cente(red) tee, Fatique coat with the red writing all inside (its really amazing). I also bought from the Hallmark RED collection Mali mud tote bag & Journal.
