So basically, I'm a really tall and skinny guy with pretty long arms and legs. 6'4" ~150lb. I find it almost impossible to find off-the-rack stuff that fits me well. The stuff that are long enough for me usually look like "kites" when I wear them. I'm wondering if anyone know of any designers that are known for cutting their cloth long and slim.

Welcome to the forum :flower:

My husband has the same problem. He's had good luck with Dsquared, Dior Homme, Armani, and Armani Exchange. I'm sure there are more but that's all I can remember off the top of my head. Other than that, getting things tailored is always an option. Good luck!

off the top of my head:

Dior Homme in general, but earlier collections especially
Alexander McQueen
Carol Christian Poell
Costume National Homme
Veronique Branqhino
John Galliano

I don't know about lower end clothes makers though.

Hey, I'm 6'2 1/2 - 170lbs and I usually go for Dior, Diesel or Dsquared. Something with a shape or tighter fit.

from experience: Miu Miu, Prada, Dior Homme, Burberry Prorsum, Marni.

from my experience, Dior Homme is the best for slim types...and even though the runway photos make the clothes seem really baggy, Yohji Yamamoto fits really well on my tall and slim body, in terms of the shoulders for suit jackets especially, which is my biggest weakness as my lack of shoulders restricts me from wearing most off the rack designer suits. Another great thing about Yohji is the sleeves are the perfect length for long arms. Yohji's diffusion line, Y's, cuts pretty slim this season, and has a lot of great basics so you might wanna look into that. Hope that helps.

ive tried miu miu, prada, dolce, D&G, and zara. those cloth seem to be made for people who are around 6 ft ish, too short for me.

do mcqueen, galliano, and burberry prorsum cut longer?

ive been shopping around from Dior Homme stuff lately, the fw06 fits are really relaxed. i noticed that on the retail versions, the arms and sleeve holes on the suits and coats are relaxed to the point where the cloth don't even resemble the runway pieces?

my luster collection coat fits much slimmer. how far back do I have to go to find pieces that fit true to runway proportion?

I don't necessarily think that D&G, Dolce, Miu, etc. are cut for that height, it's just that they make clothes that are intended to look a little bit smaller (which in turn makes them shorter). Galliano is cut slim but it is also cut rather short (as is Dsquared, I have some mens XS tops from them measuring a mere 19 inches in length!). Granted, these are designed to be "short", however it is completely understandable if you do not want to wear tees and sweaters that barely hit your belt buckle, in which case I advise you do not look into these slim brands. Burberry Prorsum and McQueen are relatively slim (especially Prorsum), yet their items do not look like they were produced to fit 9 year olds. Emporio Armani is also cuts slim but reasonably lengthy.

Best of luck :)

Jil Sander is definitely cut for very tall, slim people with long arms... I would give it a try if I were you!
