"According to actress Diane Kruger, who has known the designer since she was 16, "Karl is truly a perfectionist with an incredible sense of detail."
And how. Lagerfeld chose Kruger, who, like him, is German, to corepresent a Nijinsky prize to emerging choreographer Marco Goecke, who hails from - where else?-Germany. Later, at the dinner, Kruger, in a white Chanel couture dress from 2003, chats up a storm with the royal family. "Caroline's husband, Ernst, is actually from Hanover, which is where I'm from, so we had a lot to talk about," she relates. Kruger has also gotten to know Caroline's son Andrea Casiraghi and his girlfriend, Tatiana Santo Domingo, who reveals the couple's plans to move to New York. "We found out that we had been neighbors in Paris for over 10 years and never ran into each other before," Kruger says. "And an even greater coincidence is that they are moving into the same builidng in New York I used to live in for years!"
